On the worst day of her life, Lucy Fairchild, heiress and lawyer, runs into Jake Dalton, construction company owner. After being told she is to marry the man her father chooses for her because she is 30, Lucy gets in a verbal sparring match with Jake where he dares her to go on a date with him. Sparks fly, neither is willing to back down. Jake is struggling to make his construction company a success, trying to prove he is not a failure. In their game of dare, they try to prove each other wrong, when suddenly the rules change. Can their love survive?

Ms. Burton has done it again. What a great story. While you wouldn’t think that arranged marriages still happen in this day and age, they do and Ms. Burton told the story to perfection. The infuriating father, slimy husband to be and all. Ms. Burton has created a wonderful world full of vibrant characters and an entertaining plot.

Jake and Lucy’s characters are phenomenal. They come from two different worlds yet are very credible characters and bring energy and excitement to this story. The first time Jake and Lucy met, had me in stitches laughing so hard. The hilarious byplay continued throughout. Jake and Lucy’s personalities jump right off the pages. Their relationship is explosive. One minute they are laughing, then offended and fighting, sad, then ecstatic. And boy do the sparks fly when they get to the bedroom. While not over the top, the love scenes are very sensual and full of heat. Both characters are very passionate and the temperatures go up as the clothes come off.

If you enjoy an entertaining contemporary romance that is so full of heat that it may scorch you, this is definitely the book for you. Dare to Love is a fun, fast-paced romance full of love, life and everything in between.
