Regan is a woman who loves her man, loves her job, but has a terrible secret from her past that could destroy her future. Ian is in love for the first time and wants to make Regan his forever. He's not willing to accept a casual relationship, it's all or nothing for him. How long can he accept what Regan's willing to give? If he gives her up, how long can he stand not having her in his life? While working together to protect Princess Halle they discover how little everything else matters. All they want is to be together. Then Regan is abducted while impersonating the princess. Has fate decided their future for them, or will they get a second chance?

Regan's character is feminine without being prissy. She's also not so strong that she's masculine. She has a nice balance between the two. Much of who she is today is shaped by what happened to her as a child. I would have liked to see her interact with children more than she did because children are so important to her. I liked the fact that she took her job seriously even though she didn't want the assignment of pretending to be Princess Halle. Ian and Regan have a lot of chemistry and heat up the room when they're together. Ian comes from a world of the rich and privileged. He's very down to earth though and is much more likable when he's an average working man. He reminds us that money can't buy happiness or love.

I enjoyed the mix of humor, suspense and romance that this book provided. The secondary characters were, at times, major characters themselves. Having some storylines associated with the minor characters made them more than just background or "window dressing". The story takes place in several locations and the reader is able to enjoy visualizing the various locales. The suspense is mild and not gory, so if you usually avoid suspense, this is a good one to try.
