She is surprised when he turns out to be her latest client, but this is only the first of the surprises that are in store for her.
This author has a gift for writing extremely erotic and tasteful sex scenes. The attraction between the two characters is evident even before they meet for the first time and grows from there. Both characters are very well written as is Garran’s former lover. Cate’s trips into the Land of the Dead are eerie and suspenseful. At first I had a hard time reconciling a vampire’s need to see a shaman to repair his soul, but the author makes it work. The settings in the present time and in Garran’s past are vivid enough to picture them easily. This is a story full of romance, drama, and suspense and a very good read.
