| Dragan Petrovic and Lacey Blake haven't gotten where they are in life the easy way. An abusive father has helped shape her into a woman looking for approval and acceptance in all the wrong places. Dragan came from poverty to wealth the hard way and has learned to give back to people around him. When Lacey is stranded in his hotel something about the woman calls to Dragan's heart
Sloane Taylor pens a tale of an unlikely duo who cut through the exterior trappings of life to the things that are important. Luckily Dragan is a perceptive man because Lacey hides behind a tough veneer that's hard to crack. Dragan seems to have learned patience and an intuitive ability that endears him to the reader. Love at first sight may not be common but the author turns their instant attraction into an erotic romance. We can almost hear Lacey's feisty, street smart midwestern twang contrasting with Dragan's old world cultured diction as the two interact. Heat, humor, and the old world charm of Prague blend in a really good way as Ms. Taylor crafts this story. Brad Claymore, a crass man who's as close to a villain as we come in this tale, has put the two together with his inconsideration. He drives them even closer when he shows up to continue the liaison he had planned with Lacey. The fact that he shows up late without any guilt over stranding Lacy in a foreign land with few resources at hand contrasts well with Dragan's caring and consideration. Secondary characters like the desk clerk and bell hops provide smiles at their realistic behavior. Tender moments contrast with overt sexual behavior between Lacey and Dragan making this a wonderful read.
