Mackenzie Brooks is on the run, plain and simple. Even though she travels through different cities and states, still the man who is after her and his goons seem to be able to find her each time. She finds herself in motels that a woman from suburbia normally only sees in horror movies. As her money starts runs out, she feels as though her luck may do the same if she doesn’t leave again.

Jackson Holt is a PI and a good one. When Mackenzie’s boss asks him and his partner to check up on her, they take the case. While he is used to cases involving the supernatural, he gets the feeling that Mackenzie’s case will be anything but simple.

This is an interesting story that easily captured my attention. By the first two chapters, I had lost track of everything around me and became mesmerized by this energizing, passionate, and magic packed supernatural story. I got so caught up in the action and intrigue that I forgot that I was just reading a story. Moira Rogers knows just how to make the reader feel as though they are living right along side of her in-depth and breathtakingly real characters. Moira Rogers can take shape shifters, psychics, and magic casters and make them easily relatable. This book has something for everyone with the misfits that find a place to belong, steamy romances, action packed fights -- all wrapped up in the supernatural. This is one of those books that I can admit I am ecstatic that it is coming out in print, even though it will be a long wait. I will be bouncing on my feet until it does. Another great thing about this book is that Crux is part of a series and while the next one doesn’t come out for a some time, I am still looking forward to it.
