| What’s a girl to do when she loses her job, her car, her life savings and finds out her ex has quit his job leaving them without health insurance? She has a four year old asthmatic daughter to support. Ben Hart, her hot landlord, offers to marry her on paper only so they’ll have medical coverage.
Sharona Nelson has penned a tale full of great characters. Sunny’s disposition fits her name through one catastrophe after another. Libbie is a typical four year old. Ben is better than any landlord I’ve ever had! Ray can teach a four year old to eat all sorts of healthy food. Daffy and Silly, Sunny’s parents, may have been immature hippies while she was growing up but being grandparents seems to bring out the best in them. Dulcie, Sunny’s best friend, is a true blue companion. Ms. Nelson has taken all of these precious or precocious people, mixed them with great dialogue, lots of humor and turned out an excellent story that’s fun to read. Not even having the mob after them can destroy their friendships. Sunny and Ben have their ups and downs, not the least of which is that Sunny is afraid he’s gay. For her it was lust at first sight but she keeps getting mixed messages from this professor with the body she pines for. This author tells such a great story of life, love and relationships that the only bad thing about it is that it couldn’t go on forever.
