| When AJ walks into her high school reunion, she is reminded of the senior spring dance twenty-five years ago and she feels just as out of place now. Abandoned on the dance floor she had escaped to shop class and the Corvette she and her partner were working on. She's surprised to find the car still here and then Greg shows up and it's as if time has stood still.
This is a lovely story about secret high school crushes and the one who got away. I loved that this story did not try to be any more than what it is, a peek into the life of a reluctant reunion attendee. AJ is a wonderful mixture of strength and vulnerability, maturity and naivete. Greg is more than a dreamy hero, he's a real-life, real-live guy. In fact he's almost a little too good to be true. This story shows us that it might not be possible for us to get a "do over" but that sometimes fate intervenes and everything works out as it should. I confess that I myself have a Corvette and high school crush who was the one who "might have been" and this story left me with a big smile on my face reliving some of my most favorite memories.
