| Evelyn is the head librarian in the sleepy, quiet town of Esmerelda. She is seen as a spinster-type and secretly goes into Boston every Saturday night to let her wild side out. It is there that she meets Reuben, a local musician at a small bistro. Evelyn likes the risk involved in living a double life. She can be the prime and proper librarian during the week and the bad girl for Reuben every weekend. The problem is that Reuben wants more than just Saturday nights from Evie. He wants to take their relationship to the next level. When Reuben shows up at the library unexpectedly, Evie's world is shaken to the core. Is she ready to let her guard down and love in?
Evie is a character with many dimensions to her. The addition of Reuben is just the right touch needed to help expose the true nature of Evie. Reuben, at first, is seen as a typical musician with groupies around him. As the story progresses he reveals a wonderful side to him that is determined to help Evie realize they are meant to be together. Evie's reluctance to enter into a deeper relationship is one thread the author unravels in such a way that the reader will be encouraged to keep turning the pages. The sensual scenes are tastefully done and inserted in just the right places. I liked the chemistry between these two colorful characters and how their love grows. A recommended read to anyone who likes great love stories with light mysteries thrown.
