Claimed by Shadow is a highly imaginative action adventure and dark fantasy fiction with a strong female heroine. Cassie is young emotionally vulnerable woman with an untold amount of untrained power who finds herself in all types of surprising situations. I found myself hooked from the very beginning. This story is one of the most imaginative stories readers will ever come across. Every type of supernatural being ever heard of finds itself somehow included in this fascinating story. I have never read a story that included so many different types of characters. Figures from mythology, religion and supernatural legends combine smoothly in this creative fast paced story. And talk about exciting action. Cassie finds herself involved in some of the most exciting battles. When the weapons are magical and the creatures have amazing powers anything can happen and many times Cassie finds herself narrowly escaping by jumping through portals to different realms. If she is not fighting she is shifting through time just trying to stay alive. Unfortunately for those around her they usually get taken along for the ride. Readers will find themselves drawn in and totally enthralled so be prepared to lose yourselves in this story from beginning to end. Readers that enjoy such authors as Laurell Hamilton, Kim Harrison and Charlaine Harris are sure to enjoy this fascinating story. I have added a new favorite author to my ever growing list of authors to look for new releases. I highly encourage readers of dark fantasy and paranormal romance to check out this latest release by Karen Chance, Claimed by Shadow a must read that will be read over and over again.
