| Kyle and Marcie Woodland have been trying to pick up the pieces since their mother walked out four years ago. Some of their father's girlfriends haven't helped the situation any. Now Eva, his newest girlfriend, seems to be settling into a routine with their dad. One situation after another seems to confront Marcie and her friends. On top of all that her mother seems to suddenly want to have them spend time with her.
Julie Harford seems to capture the roller coaster ride of teenagers pretty well. Young love. Peer pressure. Raging hormones. It seems like those years are like falling into a pit, pulling out and falling again. I think Ms. Harford covers it well even though it's been a long time since I was a teenager. Some things you just don't forget! We get a really good picture of different mothers who seem to take their childhood misery out on their kids. Marcie, Kyle, Eva, Byron, Colby, and Callie's grandmother seem to be evidence of the kind of people we'd like to have in our lives during those tough times. This is a great read for teenagers or people of any age.
