I liked the way Ms. Shay portrayed her characters in this story. The emotions were real and you felt like you were actually there, as both Bastian and Marina had to face so many life changing events. The prejudice and hatred that Marina and her family had to face was heart wrenching. And as the king of the pride, Bastian was so caught up in ignoring what was right beneath his nose, it almost cost him something more precious than any jewel. Marina made me proud and happy at the way she stood up to the enemy who wanted her dead, and Bastian was willing to challenge anyone who dared to question his authority. This is a great story with a mixture of hot kinky sex, unlimited drama, and a hero and heroine who kick butt.
