| Jennifer is excited about her new position as researcher to the Conde, one of Spain’s most famous writers. She did not expect him to be so handsome and charming. When he proposes a fake engagement to fend off the predatory women sent by his mother, she agrees, never dreaming that she would fall so deeply in love with him. She thinks the affair is doomed; his mother wants him married to a member of the Spanish aristocracy, but Tony is full of surprises.
This is a very good romantic tale with a bit of the feel of the better Harlequin romances about it. The characters are very well written and so vivid that I could picture and hear them with no problem. Tony and Jennifer’s relationship is very romantic and everyone but the two of them realize that they are deeply in love. Tony’s overprotective mother and psychotic housekeeper are very well done as are the loose women that he previously kept company with. I especially loved the part where the mother realizes that Jennifer is more than just the lowly secretary she imagined. She is a wonderfully pushy woman, annoying, but protective of her son. She soon accepts what is best for him. If you love a good romance, set in an exotic place, with an extremely sexy alpha male hero, this is the book for you.
