| Piloting her spacecraft Lazarus through a treacherous slalom of an asteroid belt is an every day occurrence for Jackie Clark. Desperate to keep her finances flowing and caring for her sick parents, no job is too difficult. That is until a job that will pay enough money for her parent's medical expenses for a year comes up. The only problem is this time she's not flying entirely solo. Her back up is none other than a man who she has lusted after. Just hearing his voice is enough to make her weak with desire.
For Terrence 'Ty' Weller the job as Jackie's back up means that he can help his sister achieve her chosen career as a doctor. He's wanted Jackie ever since they first met and worked together but never made a move. Opportunity arises when his ship is totally incapacitated, followed by a daring rescue leaving him without his ship and on board Jackie's. Anger turns to lust and with seduction on his mind, he sets about breaking down the walls that Jackie has surrounding her. While there's no mention of Danu, The Leader of the Hussies other than the introduction from this series, she can be clearly perceived throughout. Jackie's a strong woman, made stronger because of the difficulties she's had to overcome and her family ties. Ty has worked hard to change his life and that of his sister. He's a man who puts his sister first, but Jackie intrigues him. Everything about her turns him on. Cassiopeia is a futuristic, warp-speed ride of a story. The loves scenes are scorching and vividly portrayed. The chemistry between Jackie and Ty, as they get to know each other, is tangible thus making this story exciting to read as Ty systematically uses seduction and just being himself to break down Jackie's defenses while she strives to keep them from tumbling. Superbly written, an altogether very enjoyable addition from Nathalie Gray to a series that is an intriguing array of styles and talent.
