Even when she is misaligned and abused by her selfish family she never speaks an unkind word. Readers will look forward to a time when she begins to find happiness. Edward is a man that is happiest at sea. He is used to being obeyed and speaks with authority. He is also a very kind, fair- minded, and generous man. He quickly recognizes a bad situation and goes about making things right. He will be the cause of tears as the reader worries over his desire to return to the sea. Readers will anxiously await the time when he realizes he has a home and someone that loves him. This is a sweet love story where love grows from actions. Alice sees Edward as the knight in shining armor who has come to save everyone. Every little touch and smile goes a long way in winning her heart. Edward is harder to read. He is always considering returning to the sea but there are times it is easy to see the feelings he has developed for Alice. This is not a story of great passion but of a sweet love that touches the heart. This is a special story that readers are sure to remember long after reading. I highly recommend it for the readers’ enjoyment.
