|Jayda needs a break from men! A vacation in Montana is just what she needs to erase the memory that her boyfriend is married. Cole is a wolf shifter and police chief who is investigating the murder of shifter in his town. When another shifter is found dead behind Jayda's cabin she realizes that she must depend on the man she just met.
Nina Pierce writes a scorcher. This is my first read of hers and I will absolutely be picking up another, and another, and another. There is romance, intrigue, mystery and of course some hot love scenes. Jayda's path of discovering her true self is fraught with twists and surprises. Cole is written as a great guy... for me that was a small blip. I like my guys to have a little grit to them; a little something that makes you hate to love them.
I LOVED that the author made Jayda a woman with curves. It is great to read about a strong female character that is confident in her appearance and self that doesn't have a need to be a stick figure. The heat between Cole and Jayda is explosive from the start. The little twist at the end hits you between the eyes and makes you look make to see if you missed a hint or two from the author. Again, great read and I will be looking for more from Mrs. Pierce.
