| Set in the year 3028, Dara Frost finds herself convicted and imprisoned for a crime she'd witnessed in a dream. When given a choice of the cell block she'd prefer to inhabit during her stay on planet Alpha Beta Nine, Dara is unmistakably drawn to Wolf Block, where only the most murderous and treacherous criminals are housed. She has no idea why she is drawn to pick the Wolf, but her instinct is so strong that she's afraid to go against it. Then she meets her large muscle-bound cell mate, who is less than pleased to have her join him.
The last decade of Tristan Hunt's life has been his penance for a crime he willingly committed, but that sickened him all the same. His years in prison, dwelling among the worst dregs of society, might have made him question his humanity, but he'd never felt so much like an animal as he did around this timid, delicate female. Her very presence stirs the beast within him. As he feels it grow more powerful every day, Tristan fears if he spends much more time with Dara, that it will overpower him completely. But without her, he knows he will lose everything to the beast. Blood Moons is one of the best books I've read all year. Dara Frost is an innocent do-gooder who is punished for attempting to help catch a psychopathic killer. Tristan Hunt is guilty of brutally murdering the miscreant who slaughtered his mother and father. In many ways they are an unlikely pair, but each offers the one thing the other cannot have alone. Tristan offers Dara his protection, both mentally and physically and Dara offers him her humanity and affection. Without her he becomes more beast than man, and he will destroy anyone who attempts to do her harm. Alianne Donnelly has created a future world that is darkly fascinating. In her world, prisoners become guinea pigs in medical studies that can potentially affect their DNA. Taking her readers deep into the psyches of Tristan and Dara, Ms. Donnelly gets you to understand their darkest fears in a way that makes you admire them for everything they have accomplished, despite the heartache and pain their actions brought them. As a reader, you root for them to succeed, even when you suspect the odds against them are too numerous to overcome. Blood Moons is a book I did not want to put down. I truly enjoyed it, even when some events had me cringing under my covers. It has a hero to die for, and a heroine totally worthy of him. The passion between them is erotic and combustible. I highly recommend this book to all lovers of dark, erotic paranormal fantasies.
