Derek Musgrave builds a really haunting love story of the past, weaving it with a new and unexpected love. The author gives Emily a strength I'm not sure many of us would have in similar circumstances. She's a woman who believes her life is all about control, being a self made woman but has to give that up to help two people put an end to their searching and be joined in the afterlife. The author takes all of this and puts it together in a powerful way. I was wrapped up in the story, hoping for a happy ending throughout. Since the afterlife isn't something we know about for sure, anything is possible and the author lets his imagination and ours flow. The characters are believable, the dialogue well done. The ending wraps the story up in a very satisfying way with some unexpected twists that make it even more complete.
