There is much more going on here than is visible on the surface and everything revolves around Blood Bytes, its owner Tamela, and her three most popular employees, Devante, Kaylen Knight and Charmaine Renata.
This is one of the most involving stories I have read in a long time, in fact I lost a lot of sleep because I just could not put it down. Ms. Phelan has created a very realistic world of the future and her descriptions help put the reader right there. The tension between Tess and Renaldi makes both the characters and their working relationship more realistic. I just loved Devante’s character, he is very mysterious and sexy, Kaylen is a bit over the top as he should be and Charmaine is unexpectedly sympathetic. The plot is full of action and intrigue and the mystery angle is very good. I have always liked this author’s work, but this is the best one yet.
