| Kalie Nova does not know much about her family having lost them when she was very young. She was told her parents were killed when the ship they were on exploded. She was raised as many war orphans by the navy until she was able to serve. Her career did not last long and she found herself expelled from the navy into a life of dismal poverty. There she had to gain credits in order to raise her living status. She unintentionally comes across some information that her superior is involved in a traitorous business of producing a biological weapon. They were creating cyborgs out of a mysterious alien race to be used to take over the galaxy.
Kalie soon finds herself on the run for her life from these strange creations that have been ordered to eliminate her. When she runs across Imperial Agent Rigel Stone she believes he is working with them. Rigel is trying to get to the bottom of who is creating these monstrosities that he notices showing up everywhere with Kalie. Rigel soon learns that Kalie has come across the information he needs and decides that they should work together. Kalie is willing to except his help in trying to stay alive. They find themselves thrown together in an adventure filled with intrigue and deceptions. Their love grows as the galaxy prepares for war. Azar is an exciting space adventure filled with thrilling action and intrigue. Readers will find themselves drawn in from the very beginning as the mystery of Kalie’s life begins to unfold. It is obvious that things are being kept from her for a reason and the facts that have been told do not add up. Kalie is an amazing character. She is extremely smart and ambitious. She is tough and brave when she needs to be. At other times she seems like a little girl. She is lost, scared and vulnerable. Readers quickly become attached to this character and fears for her as she faces one difficult situation after another. Rigel is the strong and brave. He allows Kalie to lean on him when she needs extra strength. Readers will fall in love with this handsome hero that helps save our girl. The attraction between the two is strong from the beginning. As the two spend time together it is clear that their feelings have grown. They dream of a time when they are not in danger but it does not seem they will find peace and happiness anytime soon. Their romance will have readers hoping for the best but fearing the worse. Their story seems to continue and I can only hope that there is a sequel in which we learn they find the happiness they dream of. The action never stops in this fast paced story as Kalie is chased from planet to planet through space. The enemy is serious about taking her out and she will find herself in some very harrowing situations. Readers are encouraged to check out this latest in exciting space adventures, Azar by La Taylor.
