| Diana is a love goddess with an apparently insatiatable appetite for sex. She doesn't see the need to help lovely mortal Kate Patterson restore her faith in love and find it by Valentine's Day. But Aphrodite insists she do just that so she finds Kate for her latest assignment. The mortal woman is lovely and helping her believe in love shouldn't be that difficult, right? Especially when there's a very hunky diversion that might suit her own needs while she's working.
This shorter work about the intervention of gods and goddesses into the more complicated human world didn't work for me. While the interaction between Diana and the other immortal she encounters in the story was fairly well done, the other story thread with her mortal assignment seemed in the way and inspired no reader emotion at all. The story might have been better as a longer work, with room to develop the storyline with the mortal assignment in a way that didn't feel rushed and wasn't riddled with silly dialogue. The sensual scenes are plentiful and well executed yet overpower the work. The relationship that forms for the primary character ends in a satisfying manner but the story tried to do many things to successfully entertain.
