Jared Scott finds a place, called Hell, which is run by a woman that protects her name as well as her employees. It is the time of the speakeasies as well as illegal alcohol and the chance encounter with the mystery woman has Jared feeling pangs of love. After learning about Emily, he seeks to discover more about her and how she manages to keep the cops away from her establishment.

Emily Wainwright is a divorced woman who intends on keeping her secrets and taking care of her son while she runs her establishment. She does not easily get involved with men and Jared will certainly have to prove his worth before she gives her heart away.

Jared and Emily strike a chance encounter that lends to learning much about the other. Emily is very secretive about whom she spends her time and keeps it that way for certain reasons. After the crash of the stock market and the onset of the Depression, Emily offers Jared a proposal that he finds hard not to accept.

A Speakeasy Named Hell is an enchanting story. The characters are believable as the reader is carried back to a time where there was much heartache during the Depression Era. Ms. Mueller once again creates a story so vivid that the reader is enveloped in the whole setting. The romance she instills with her characters is amazing. She makes her heroine a devoted mother with strong motives as she struggles to keep one step ahead of everything. This is an extraordinary read that melts the heart.
