Alicia Moore has always felt insecure about herself, having been neglected by her mother, nothing more than a prostitute, her entire life. She had grown up without a father figure, and never felt like she belonged anywhere and to anyone. The stream of men visiting her mother over the years did little to reinforce her much needed sense of family.

As a teenager, she had fallen in love with Brett Coleman, but he has no idea of her feelings for him. Since he is several years older, and having known her in her gawky teenage years, he thinks of her as an innocent, inexperienced kid. Little does he know.discovered by Bretts best friends, Ridge and his girlfriend Hillary, as she is having a mnage with two other men, Alicia has since lived with the fear that Brett will be told, and her horror at his imagined reaction would be unbearable. She feels that she should tell him, but is unsure how to bring such a subject up. Then one day everything comes to a head, she finally loses all patience, decides the time has come to make a point and prove to him that she is no longer a child. She thoroughly shocks him

This story may be short, but is great reading, with a good plot, pleasant secondary characters, and this reader was rooting for Alicia as she decides enough is enough and makes her point with Brett.
