| Maggie and Devon are bonded mates. Devon is very accepting and happy about the situation. He makes all kinds of concessions to Maggie, but Maggie feels like she lost all choice in the matter. She might have chosen Devon, but she isn’t sure and this brings out an alien passive aggressive attitude that she hates. Devon understands what Maggie is going through, but she is his soul mate. Devon is attacked and kidnapped. The situation arising out of this situation makes both of them question their commitment to each other. Maggie must finally really choose her future. Kalen and Serenity will definitely want to influence their decisions.
Maggie and Devon are two characters with very different ways of handling the situation of their bonding. Maggie feels like she’s lost control of her life and her future, Devon is happy to have found his soul mate. Both are surprised that they can be sexually attracted to another and it makes them feel guilty. The author presents this situation beautifully and added some very hot sex scenes and an appropriate ending. Serenity is a disturbing character, totally insane, able to use magic and in lust with Devon. Kalen is a more seductive figure, opportunistic, but with feelings for Maggie. This is a very well done story.
