Jannine Gallant tells a story that never seems to grow old no matter how many times it's told. Everyone wants a second chance in life. So many of us dream of the one that got away, what could have been. Flynn and Chantal get their second chance. Both seem destined to walk away from it again without help from his precocious twelve year old, Ella. A black and tan basset hound named Ace and Sasha, a German shepherd help keep the story exciting and fun, helping any way they can. Add to the romance a mystery involving an old plane crash and things disappearing from Chantal's cabin. Gallant puts a refreshing twist on a tale that could have gotten too predictable. When Chantal and Ella decide to start a business selling unique dog biscuits that are edible by humans too we can't help but smile. So many things fan the old flames. But will the two old lovers get over their jealousy and kindle the flickering fire? We have to find out so this is an easy read that keeps us guessing but provides fun along the way.
