This is the story of Veronica Bailey and Nicholas Trent. Veronica works as Vice President of Consumer Affairs at First Pennsylvania Bank of Harrisburg. Nicholas is a philosophy professor. Ronnie meets Nick at work. She saw him a few days later when she was having lunch outside a few blocks away from work and Nick walks by and decides to join her. Nick invites Ronnie to dinner. They have an incredible magnetism from their first encounter. Ronnie is very involved in her career. The bank where she works has very conservative ideas and very, very conservative standards for its employees. Ronnie had had a year long relationship with Colin, a co-worker, which had ended recently. She had been craving some excitement. Nick had a biker look, hair a little long, usually in need of a shave, usually wearing old jeans and a T-shirt with old boots. He looked dangerous which intrigued Ronnie very much. Ronnie's sister Jan lived with her and was planning to get married soon. Ronnie was worried Jan wasn't happy about marrying her fiance Tim. Nick and Ronnie go to dinner. After Nick drops her at home, he finds out that his father is in the hospital. He had had stomach pains that afternoon followed by internal bleeding and his mother called him from the hospital while his father was there having surgery. Nick took off for the hospital but called Ronnie while he was there to let her know what was going on. Nick had a very close family. Ronnie's family was close too although they always treated her like The Fixer for anyone's problems. Also, Ronnie's family was never demonstrative and Ronnie had recently found herself craving affection.

I really enjoyed the characters of Ronnie and Nick. Ronnie was your classic workaholic. She had never learned to take time for a personal life. Nick was your classic bad boy and a definite hunk. You could predict that when these two hooked up, things would become sizzling. It was great fun as a reader to watch the story between Ronnie and Nick evolve. I found myself cheering for their happiness. I found myself wishing they would rush it and go for joy. A twist in the story was that both Ronnie and Nick had secrets. The secrets made for some big challenges but not insurmountable ones if they found themselves taking a gamble on love. It made for very intriguing reading. The story of Ronnie and Nick is very sweet and tender. I recommend it to everyone.
