| Sarah Greene and her partner Billy Fields run a detective agency called Greene Fields. They are also roommates, but not romantically involved, Billy is openly gay. One day a bombshell named Elisha Heavenly walked into their office and hired them to find her missing husband and the family jewels he took with him. Billy and Sarah find adventure and a lot more on their way to solving the mystery.
This story can be a lot of fun at times, the author has a very good sense of humor, but I wonder that Sarah and Billy have any time at all to solve the case with their extracurricular activities, apparently they are both irresistible to their chosen sex. It is mentioned several times that the story is set in England, but Sarah speaks like she’s in a thirties detective movie and is rescued by a man in a truck with a shotgun, a little confusing. Billy is a great character, well written and he puts up with Sarah who seems to take every opportunity she can to grope him. Their respective lovers are also well written and the plethora of villains is each more evil than the last. The action of one sort or another is non-stop, making this a very quick read with a satisfying conclusion.
