| When Nichelle Drake woke up in a hospital the only thing she could remember was her name. The doctor explained the coast guard pulled her from a lifeboat in the Gulf of Mexico and transported her to a hospital in LaPierre, Louisiana. Even though Nichelle could only remember her name, she knew she was definitely a long way from home. Sheriff Manning and the doctor plagued her with questions, but no answers came. The only thing Nichelle is sure of is her growing attraction to Sheriff Manning and the feeling that her life is in grave danger. She also knows that sooner or later she's going to have the face the demons of her past.
Doug Manning has been blaming himself for years about his wife's accident. All those years ago he should've refused to take her along on the domestic dispute call. Now because of him, everyday Rose lays in a nursing home in a coma. Doug hasn't thought about another woman for years that was until Nichelle Drake popped up in his life. Now not only is he too involved in the case but the young woman plagues him everyday and every night. I think Sweet could've taken the story a lot deeper and done so much more with it. But the characters pulled the story through and I enjoyed it overall.
