| Arlissa loves her job. She's a scientist whose work at Cayce Industries has allowed her to experiment with sophisticated forms of machinery. When she builds 5000, the most advanced and human-like security robot, she is stunned to see his shape take the appearance of her boss, Segrin Cayce. Arlissa can't deny that she's been fantasizing about Cayce for some time, yet when he finally makes the move on her, she's stunned at how intense her feelings and their relationship grow. Things are great, until Arlissa finds her heart and her machine have gone astray.
Adonis 5000 is an enjoyable sci-fi quickie with the great elements of lust, passion and intrigue. I liked the way the characters quickly established a hot affair, but that the story continued with an interesting plot twist. Cayce is hot in his pursuit of Arlissa and he takes what he wants while anticipating Arlissa's desires. Arlissa finally plays out her deepest fantasies while being capable to deal with unperceived complications. Ms. Vremont did a great job bringing us into their world for a brief time. The best parts of a quickie are when the author can provide a developed plot that leaves you satisfied with the resolution; Ms. Vremont does this and more. I found myself wanting to continue reading about the world Ms. Vremont has crafted in Adonis 5000. Pick this story up for a scorching, intriguing read.
