| Cynthia Lyon no longer has a man in her life after the death of her submissive husband. So when she needs remodeling completed on her house, she's worried that she will be taken in by a con artist. When she meets the contractor who will complete the remodeling, she comes up with a contract that will either run him off or allow her to punish him for the slightest mistakes. Will he take the contract? Will her allow her to tie him, beat him? As for Caleb Jenkins, he knows he can complete the job, but the contract intrigues him. A woman will punish him? How? What does she mean by physical punishment?
An Acquired Taste is a novella exploring light Domination and submission. This is a book to read if you're interested in BDSM but are worried that you may read something too offensive. It's a light look into the world of BDSM without giving the harsher aspects if the Dominatrix lifestyle. At first, I thought that Jude Mason was trying to rush into the story. The lack of background on Cynthia left me with questions as to how she became a dominant. However, once Cynthia and Caleb meet, it turns into a good read. There is enough disbelief and reluctance in Caleb to allowed me to think this might possibly happen. Cynthia teases Caleb about the possibility of his punishment and then leaves his imagination to fill in the blanks. Then the actual punishment is just enough to leave you wanting more.
