Four brothers and one woman met for a weekly bonding session at O’Malley’s. Twins Matthew and Mark, and their brothers Luke and John, along with John’s roommate, Lisa, looked forward to this meeting to keep up with the goings on in their lives. Luke, 38, was so anti-marriage that he swore against it. No one knew that this belief was based on his father’s infidelity. This night, Luke’s live-in girlfriend, Elaine, had broken up with him and thrown him out of his own condo. He was so anti-social that he decided to go to a hotel and crash.

John sent Lisa after Luke because he knew she had loved him from afar for years. Shockingly, Luke and Lisa ended up having the best night either of them had ever had. Luke made sure that Lisa understood that he would never marry her. And then, the next morning Elaine showed up at his doorway.

Ms. Jackie Barbosa has done a great job giving us her quick-fired, fast-paced story about a man who was convinced he could never be faithful to one woman. She delved into his character to such an extent that it was as if this man was our best friend. The poignancy of his struggles with relationships was well developed. When the main couple’s bond was explored, Barbosa showed both the vulnerable sides of the two and the exposed emotions as they faced them.

This sex was explosive. The book is a great read which I recommend highly.
