“I merely ask the Universe to reveal it. The "magic" is in keeping alive faith in yourself and your muse. You must believe you already have everything you need in this life, the tools to achieve your goals. You do not ask to be "given" the answer to what blocks you, only to be shown a key to unlock what is already there." ~ Shannah Biondine, Hell's Belle

So Your Muse Has Gone AWOL, centers on refueling the creative muse by giving beginning writer’s support resources that more experienced authors have found helpful. From the history of what a Muse is, too “Understanding Yourself as an Author”, Loari Soard and Pamela Johnson let the beginning author know they are not alone when it comes to creative depletion. All authors have felt used up at some point in their writing careers.

“This book is designed to help you know those resources, see what other authors do to inspire, enhance, and rejuvenate their creative flow.”

Their resources are extensive and include music, scent, and research for relaxation tips, thus helping the author find practical ways to break the illusive, ‘writer’s block’.

My personal favorite is the seventeen writing exercises found in chapter five, Writing Exercises, Exercise Your Creativity. My hands itched to try the exercise on POV and then again when asked to “Write a short scene where a little girl is lost from her mother.”

So Your Muse Has Gone AWOL, quotes author advice on how to keep the muse alive during tough times. In addition, Internet web addresses and ‘brick and mortar store’ book titles are recommended for the new, or the experienced author, as reference material.

Another personal favorite, for this reviewer, is chapter ten, “The Tupperware Affect.” The reader finds 365 prompts for writing, or reasons to keep writing. Loari Soard and Pamela Johnson have certainly given the reader a potpourri of information to keep their muse fired in, So Your Muse Has Gone AWOL.
