| Jessie Adams loves music; she is an indie disk jockey, part time musician

breakup, she finds out that her best friend's beach side music club in
Southern California because the gentrification of the community. Trying
to decide how best to help Lisa, Jessie decides to run for City Council
and try to prevent them from taking Lisa's license. Unfortunately,
someone wants the Council members out of the way and starts killing them
off, bringing Chuck Jackson, an off-duty police office, to protect
Jessie.
What a fun book! Jessie was a wonderful character, one whom I connected with easily. She also connected with Chuck-they were attracted to each other from the start. Their relationship became sexual, although not graphic, and together Chuck and Jessie worked to find out the murderer. The secondary characters were humorous, bizarre and a bit scary. I enjoyed the plot a great deal; the mystery was difficult to figure out, but not horrendously frightening. Ms. Davis has a wonderful sense of humor with which she imbued her characters. Following the plot was fun and I loved the characters. I hope to read more of Ms. Davis' work soon.
