| Maddy Brindisi, a junior lawyer with a high powered law firm, can't get a date. She thinks that men are afraid of her aggressive behavior in court. Patrick has been matching the male members of the firm with women for dates, for a fee, but he is astonished that Maddie asks him. They each don't know something about the other-Maddie does not know that Patrick has been fantasizing about dominating her; and Patrick does not know that Maddie is interested in exploring her submissive side. After agreeing to Maddie's request, Patrick takes her to an exclusive BDSM club.
48 Hours is the amount of time that Maddie, Patrick and a Dom from the club, Rafael, end up spending together. Although Patrick was not supposed to be involved in the scene, he had promised Maddie to look out for her. When Maddie agrees to turn herself over to Rafael for 48 hours, Patrick comes along surreptitiously. I found myself fascinated by the sex involved with this book. It is a hard-core BDSM book and inappropriate for those not interested in reading about the lifestyle. The sex is extremely graphic and was interesting in the extreme. When Patrick joins the other two characters, the plot switches somewhat and love enters the picture. Ideally in such relationships, there must be love and trust and I was more comfortable with this story once Patrick enters. The characters are very well delineated and I ended the story with a sigh of pleasure.
