| No one wants revenge as much as Belavalari Haythorne. After all these years, she thought she would never see General Tearlach Merin again. He wants to see her father, but first he has to get past her, which could mean losing his head. She doesn’t want to admit she has wanted him to return. He cannot recall their marriage but she does. When Merin suggests ending the marriage, Bela tells him it isn’t that easy. They are bound by cord for twenty-two days and twenty-two nights, sharing in any pain or joy. Merin can only imagine torture being that confined with her. If the cord is broken there will be no dissolution of the marriage. After all the days spent together, will it cause more discord or a lasting love through the ages?
I love the premise of this book the way Bela and Merin are bound together. It was fun just kicking back and watching their actions, and dialogue, explode once they learn they are connected in such a way to each other. With just enough chemistry to pull the reader deep into their drama, and some thrilling fast-paced action along the way, Linda Winstead Jones spins a story with 22 Nights that shouldn’t be missed. She sketches a world that is exciting and visual, with a vibrant cast of characters that spring to life. I love the cunning edge, along with the spirit and finesse she gives to Bela and Merin. If you’re looking for hot passion, and romance that ignites, as characters leap from the pages, look no further. This is one dynamite tale that is a satisfying good read.
