It was foretold to Primary of the Court, Embor Fiertag, that one of the Serendipity sisters was his bond mate. Yet he didn't know which one until five years ago when Talista Serendipity bonded with another, leaving Anisette to be his prophesised mate. However, three things are against him. One, he believes his mate doesn't like him much at all. Two, she's dating his rival for re-election and three, he still has to capture the rogue agents that almost killed him.

Anisette Serendipity is a court trainee, and avoids the primary for reasons of her own. Her wayward sister almost got the man killed once. Yet when a suitor for her affections tries to force a bond on her, she finds she has to rely on the one man she's tried her hardest to stay away from.

I really enjoyed how this book started with Embor and Anisette running into each other in the gardens because her niece ran off on her. And even though to Embor, it seemed that Anisette didn't like him much at all, I totally disagreed. There was a strong chemistry between them, one that Anisette denied because of her sister's wayward antics that led to him almost being killed. Also, I liked the bond between them. How Embor could feel her distress, and how he did everything he could to keep her safe. While Anisette trusting Embor enough to keep her safe and arguing with him when she thought he was wrong was what I liked so much about the heroine.

Overall, the plot and dialogue of this book was great, as to the secondary characters that provided a good chuckle here and there. The sex scenes were hot, especially added with the danger that they faced. I totally recommend this book, but suggest to readers that you may want to read the first one in this series – Survival of the Fairest -- before tackling this one. Just so you understand where the secondary characters fit in, and the back story behind Embor's near death. Moreover, if you start with this book no doubt you'll want to read the first in this series, because the story of Anisette's twin, Talista, is just as captivating.
