One night of drunken passion leads to nearly a year of secret trysts during office hours. Adam keeps his private life confidential, while Beau pretends to want nothing more than a good time. It’s a good arrangement, until a simple phone call ruins the status quo and makes Beau green with envy.
Frustrated that Adam might be seeing someone else, Beau tries to put his attraction to the younger man behind him. However, all that changes with the introduction of Adam’s son. Instantly charmed by the sweet little boy, Beau is all the more driven to claim Adam for his own. All he has to do is convince his wary lover to open his heart and trust that there’s more to Beau than his playboy persona suggests.

An Interview with Amanda Young
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Amanda, thank you for talking with us at The Rainbow Studio. Please tell us about your featured book, Reckless Passion.AY: Hi Holly. Thanks for having me here and allowing me to share a bit about my latest release. Reckless Passion is the third book in my Reckless series at Loose id. Whereas the first two stories focus on the relationship between Cody and Dante, this installment concentrates on Cody’s uncle, Beau and his quest for a happy ending with his personal assistant, Adam. No, not that kind of happy ending, although there are plenty of intimate scenes between the two characters. Actually, sex is part of the problem for the two men because neither of them knows how to change their casual relationship into something more enduring. Adam’s convinced Beau only wants to hookup for sex, while Beau believes Adam has another man in his life.
HH: Beau is worldly man who could have any lover he wanted. Adam is private and full of surprises, an intrigue that Beau can't resist. Where did you get the idea for their story? AY: The original idea for this story came from a snippet of conversation in the first scene of Reckless Seduction, where Cody catches his uncle fooling around with his PA. As the series took shape, Beau morphed into a serious business and family man. I paired him with Adam, someone who’s his polar opposite, because that seems to be the way it works in real life. Very rarely does anyone fall in love with a clone of themselves.
HH: What do you like best about Adam and how do you relate to him? AY: I like Adam because he’s very down to earth. His main concern is earning enough money to support himself and his son, something most people can relate to even if they don’t have children. Falling for his boss, and putting his livelihood in jeopardy in the process, is the last thing he expects or wants.
HH: What do you like best about Beau and why might he be perfect for Adam? AY: Beau’s perfect for Adam because he can show Adam how to relax and not take life so seriously. Adam’s had a bit of a tough time, so he can definitely be a bit of a worrywart at times. I think the thing I like best about Beau is his ability to be strong and confident at work, without losing the softer, more vulnerable side of his personality when it comes to his loved ones.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers? AY: At the moment, I’m finishing up the fourth and final installment of the Reckless series. The last title will be about Milo, Dante’s younger brother. Also, my novella, Sins of the Past, is scheduled to come out in print later this year at Samhain publishing.
HH: You write both straight and gay romances. How are these writing experiences different for you? How are they the same? AY: Love is universal, so there isn’t a huge difference between penning a love story for a straight couple or a gay one. The main distinction for me is being mindful of the differences between men and women, and how they would react in any given situation. Then again, I’d do that no matter what genre I’m writing.
HH: What do you think women readers are looking for in m/m romance? AY: Simply put, I think women want to see men fall in love.
HH: What do you enjoy most about being a writer? AY: I love creating characters and sharing them with my readers. Knowing there are people out there who can escape into the stories I create is a fabulous feeling.
HH: What would we find in your to-be-read pile? AY: A peek at my to-be-read list would reveal a ton of romance novels, as well as a smattering of horror and nonfiction titles waiting to be devoured.
HH: Any new year's resolutions this year? AY: Not a one. I don’t believe in them. I do have a few goals for 2010 though, including releasing a few more of my ebook titles in print and doing some major writing.
HH: Thank you!
