Vampire Edmond Chancellor and cat shifter Tobias Crawford have had a not-so-secret affair for over three hundred years. Edmond wants to bond with Tobias permanently, but Tobias has reasons for keeping his distance.
On a chilly December night, both men turn to past memories for guidance, but it's a present danger that makes them realize that time is precious, even to men who are practically immortal.

An Interview with Saloni Quinby
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Kate, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Black Cat and features two very special characters who've may not realize they should always be together -- until it's too late. Where did you get the idea for their amazing, unique story?
SQ:The idea for Black Cat developed throughout the writing of the first three stories in my Whisper series. Edmond and Tobias were secondary characters in all three stories and I knew they had to have a story of their own.
HH: What do you like best about Edmond and why will readers empathize with him?
SQ: I like Edmond's strength, not just his ability to protect himself and those he loves, but his courage when standing up against his family. He was willing to see beyond what he'd been taught all his life, make decisions and stand behind them.
HH: What do you like best about Tobias and why will readers love him?
SQ: I like how Tobias is tough but vulnerable. Although he's a cat shifter descended from an alien race, he has a very human side.
HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story and what do you think readers will take away from it?
SQ: I enjoyed finally exploring the details of Tobias and Edmond's relationship, which has been hinted at throughout the series. I hope readers will enjoy the flashbacks from their past and enjoy seeing the men open up to each other.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?
SQ: I have a couple of new series coming up this year. Writing as Saloni Quinby, I have the Weapons of Redemption, a M/M vampires series coming up from Changeling Press. I also have a new Kate Hill series, called Gascon Victors, about a magical being who brings soul mates together.
HH: How does 2013 promise to be different from 2012 for you?
SQ: I have several new series planned for 2013 and I also hope to revisit some of my older ones. At the moment I'm preparing to submit in another erotic Viking romance as well as a M/M futuristic novel.
HH: Where do you find inspiration for your stories?
SQ: I can find inspiration from just about anywhere. Sometimes it's a person or a place that helps me think of story ideas. I'm never sure exactly when or where inspiration will strike.
HH: What's your writing schedule like?
SQ: I dedicate a certain amount of time every day to writing, including working on new material, research, proof reading, edits and promo.
HH: What's your favorite way to interact with readers?
SQ: I love Twitter and yahoo groups. I also really appreciate reader feedback through emails so I know what people liked, what they didn't and what they'd like to see next.
HH: What are you most looking forward to in 2013?
SQ: I always hope for a happy, healthy year for everyone. I'm looking forward to working on new books, reading some great stories and having fun!
