When Reci, Queen of Cups, abdicates her underwater throne, she has no idea of the curse awaiting her. But when the curse hits, and she splits, Arthur, her captain, finds himself with two Recis to protect-and love.
For a man who has long suppressed his feelings for his sexy queen, being royally seduced by the lusty, sex-starved half of Reci is an irresistible temptation, the realization of every sexual fantasy he's ever had about her. But Reci is more than a split personality-she's now two people, and getting back to Cups becomes a priority before the split is permanent and the curse kills her.
Two women, one man. And a royal sister who will stop at nothing-even murder-to hold onto the throne she ripped from Reci's fingers.
The race is on-to get Reci back together, and save the throne and the woman he loves before the sands run out.

"I’m not sure I can even come up with the words to describe the impact this book had on me. Sally Painter creates a world so incredible that I found myself immersed in the characters, their plight, and the wonders of this underwater nation. Reci and Arthur are perfect together but without the curse she would have never followed her heart and admitted to loving him. I loved the differences between Reci and RW, and eagerly kept reading to find out just how their problem would be resolved. This is a story that pulls the reader into the storyline and allows you to experience every action packed and emotional moment along with the characters. Beautiful job Ms. Painter! DIVIDED LOVE is a wonderful story and the perfect way to ‘lose’ yourself for a few hours." - Romance Junkies, Chrissy Dionne
"...fascinating story... With its unique premise and captivating characters, DIVIDED LOVE is a novel I highly recoomend." - RRTErotic, Jennifer Bishop
"Sally Painter has created a fascinating tale about two people in love who long to be together, but one refuses because of her duty. Torrid Tarot: Divided Love grabbed me from the first page and was so interesting I had a difficult time putting the book down. I loved the way Ms. Painter made Reci face her feelings. Arthur is so easy to love; his emotions were so real, I cried at several points in the book. Torrid Tarot: Divided Love is full of raw emotion, danger, and some steamy sex. I was truly on the edge of my seat at the end of the book waiting to see how things would turn out. I definitely would recommend this book." - Two Lips Reviews, Julianne

About Sally Painter
When an astrologer told Sally, “Beneath that smart business suit you’re wearing beats the heart of a Hussy,” she was inspired and started writing erotic romances.
Born in the South and into an Irish/Scottish family meant storytelling was a natural part of her life, especially the ghost stories of her state. And, she’s had many encounters with real ghosts. Invited to participate in a three-year paranormal project, Sally went on to host a monthly paranormal workshop and radio talk show.
When not writing hot sexy gargoyles, vampires and futuristic hunks, Sally can be found going on another adventure with her soul mate husband, enjoying her family and hanging out with her sister authors, The Hussies.

An Interview with Sally Painter
By Holly Hewson Marketing Director for The Romance Studio
HH: Sally, welcome to TRS! Please tell us about your featured work, Divided Love. SP: Reci Waters has divided into two people. One is her duty-minded psyche and the other is the side she can never let free because of her queenly duties. The story begins to unravel when her freer side, RW, refuses to return to Cups and runs away. Poor Arthur doesn't stand a chance.
HH: The plot of your story is unlike anything I've read before. Where did you get the idea of a curse that turns your heroine into twins? SP: I wanted to explore what it is like when a person is torn between heart and duty. What better way to examine the internal split than to manifest it into a physical separation? The dividing into two people clearly demonstrates just how divided Reci is about her love for Arthur. It was a fun way to approach the premise and different from what a reader might expect.
HH: What challenges did you face in writing this story? SP: My biggest challenge was conveying that Reci and her other half, RW, were very different from each other. My editor, Sue-Ellen Gower, was a big help in keeping me honest with that part. <G>
HH: What did you like best about Arthur? SP: His unwavering love and devotion to Reci. He is a man who knows his heart and will risk everything to follow it. He gives up his command in the kingdom without hesitation and follows Reci when she lands. Even when she sends him away, he still watches over her, protecting her at a distance. He is a man of honor and integrity, aspects I personally admire. Arthur is a hero in the truest sense of the word and his flaw is his staunch support and devotion to Reci.
HH: What are you working on now? What do you have in store for readers in the near future? SP: Sexed Up was released March 7 and is a futuristic set in 2383. All the men on Earth are dead and the Anti-Male world government, convinced it was "God's will", has outlawed all research into re-creating males. So Dr. Randi Mayers, the world's foremost sex-replacement designer, is illegally working to create the closest thing to a real man technology can create. William, the result of advanced nanite technology incorporated with DNA, is the ultimate "sex replacement" and everything Randi dreamed of. His sexual prowess leaves her breathless — and very, very satisfied. But William is much more than a machine, dammit — he's a man! As his "testing" continues and he demonstrates more and more human characteristics, they fall in love, but discovery and industrial espionage place them on a collision course with the Anti-Male faction, with dire results.
I'm currently finishing the edits on my first series, Gargoyles Seduced. Reunited is Book 1 in this urban fantasy (I believe it's being classified as a paranormal.) Reunited sets up the world of the gargoyles and the problem they are facing with a virus ravaging their species and Jen Ormand, the human, who is destined to save them. There are demons and danger and lots of hot sexy fun with strong virile gargoyles who are handsome and seductive.
My other gargoyle book, To Kiss a Gargoyle, is being released in Pocketbooks' June 10 anthology (featured along with stories from Shelley Munro and Margaret L. Carter), titled Midnight Treat. To Kiss a Gargoyle is a fantasy story about Marcy Townsend's obsession of spending sultry nights in the arms of Leonardo, her dream lover. Only he can fulfill her deepest desires. There's only one problem—Leonardo, the "man" of her dreams, is a gargoyle statue outside her high-rise office window.Marcy can't get him out of her mind and her passionate longing for him drives her into a frenzy of need, unable to do or think of anything but him. Until one night she risks everything to see if the lover of her dreams is, in fact, trapped inside the statue. A simple kiss, a caress, and a startling revelation shocks Marcy, sending her toppling off Leonardo's ledge, to plunge to a certain death. But when a winged man saves her, Marcy realizes that kissing a gargoyle was a risk worth taking, as her hottest fantasies—and Leonardo—come to life.
Currently, I'm writing Danu and the Dragon Giants (working title) for The Hussies series and have a second one, a vampire book half-written and yet untitled, whose main character is named Amy after the reader who won the Wanna Be A Hussy in a Book Contest. I've had other books as you can see that had to be completed before I could turn my attention to this series I'm writing with Ciana Stone, Nathalie Gray, Nicole Austin, and Sahara Kelley.
HH: How much time do you devote to your writing career to include promotion, conferences, etc.? SP: It seems like 24/7. I write about 6-8 hours every day but do have a day job that is now part-time, so whatever free time I have, I spend writing during the week. I'm online about 10 hours a week for the promo aspect, but a lot of that is just fun, so it doesn't feel like work. <G> I'm not attending conferences this year due to work schedule and personal obligations, but I'm planning to attend 2009 RT. I have several friends who live in Florida and several who will be attending RT. So I look forward to spending time with them and also getting to meet readers and reviewers I've met online over the years. I can't wait!
HH: What do you enjoy most about creating stories for the entertainment of readers? SP: For me, writing is similar to reading because I don't know what is going to happen next. I know the beginning, the dark moment (middle) and the ending when I start (usually), but it's up to the characters to take me there. I'm not a plotter because if I know what is going to happen, I really have no reason to write the book. I write because I enjoy the adventure. It is humbling and gratifying whenever a reader sends me an email to say she/he enjoyed my book. It's the greatest feeling in the world!
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career? SP: My goals are simple. Continue to write my stories and give readers a fun exciting escape.
HH: What do you do in any free time? SP: I love scifi and paranormal. My husband and I love watching movies snuggled on the couch or doing a weekend movie marathon at the theaters when a good crop of movies come out. I have a lot of plants and in the summer enjoy gardening. My husband and I enjoy day trips or weekend jaunts, getting together with friends and family. There's never a problem filling in free time, it's usually finding free time that is the challenge, but we work from home, so we can typically work out our schedules to accommodate fun.
HH: Any vacation plans this year? SP: My husband and I enjoy taking trips and being with our girls. Last year we went to Key West for a week and had a blast. The year before we took a road trip to Oklahoma to visit his relatives and then went home via Gulfport, MS. I'm not sure where we'll go this year. It's too early to tell and I prefer spontaneity over planning. Yes, my life is like my writing - by the seat of my pants. It's just a lot more fun that way.
Thank you for the feature, Holly. I love TRS and reading about the authors you interview and am thrilled to be here.
HH: Thank you!
