Inconvenient roommates, Jerry's schedule as a film electrician, Sophie's schoolwork, shadows from both their pasts, and unforeseen situations all create complications. Jerry plans to introduce Sophie to his family at Thanksgiving but Sophie's mother shows up unexpectedly.

At Christmas, Sophie finally meets the Ferguson family and finds that Jerry has a wonderful and eccentric collection of relatives, all immersed in one aspect or other of the film business. The business that runs Hollywood.

But Sophie's mother faces a crisis herself and it looks like her need for her daughter will force Jerry out of Sophie's life for good. But friends and family come forward to help defuse the drama and allow love to find its own way through the obstacles of ordinary (and not so ordinary) life.

Sophie and Jerry are very different in so many ways. But nothing can dim that electric charge that keeps building and building and pulling them back together.

Reviews for Electric Vibrato

"This book offered great insights into the cast of characters. It showed their differences but also how the commitment of Jerry and Sophie made their dissimilarities almost a moot point. We also found more about their families and how they shaped their present personalities. Ms. Erica Leigh Madson has offered a good expansion of the lives of two exceptional young people. She has expanded the highlights and downfalls and done so in a very interesting way. I liked this book and recommend it to anyone who likes to read a “happily ever after.”" - Brenda Talley

About Erica Leigh Madson

Erica Leigh Madson moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film business, but stayed for the mountains, the oceans and the desert.

She was a bookworm from a very early age, immersing herself in mysteries, science fiction and action adventures. Her first Playboy when she was 11 came as a surprise--the science fiction stories were pretty good but the magazine certainly had some weird ideas about female anatomy and sex.

Erica is branching out into a writing career after years of working in the Los Angeles film business in many different capacities. Her books are set against the industry she knows so well and the city where she has lived for the last 20 years. She wants to tell good stories that will appeal to women and the occasional intelligent male. Her other interests include skiing, motorcycles, hiking, baseball and, of course, the film business.

An Interview with Erica Leigh Madson
By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance Studio

HH: Erica, welcome back to TRS. Please tell us about your featured work, Electric Vibrato.

ELM: Electric Vibrato continues the love story of Sophie and Jerry and adds the complications of family and friends. There is romance, there is poignancy, there is lust and laughter and tears as they get to know each other. Sophie learns to be part of a couple and continues to explore her sensuality with Jerry. She is looking forward to meeting Jerry’s family – from his famous father, aunts and uncles to the grandmother who started Ferguson Films – when her mother shows up for a visit at Thanksgiving.

Afraid that Sophie will lose the opportunity her university scholarship offers, Georgia draws her daughter away from Jerry. For a while Sophie can only dream about sex but the the lovers manage to overcome all obstacles and rekindle their physical passion by the book’s end.

HH: How does this story pick up where Sophie and Jerry left off?

ELM: The morning after. And Sophie definitely doesn’t have second thoughts. She is fantasizing, reliving and enjoying the intensity of her sexual response to Jerry when he calls. Jerry has enjoyed himself as much as Sophie has – this is a relationship that will go places.

HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this installment?

ELM: The twists and turns of the plot. I also found I enjoyed weaving the interests and concerns of all the other characters into the story.

HH: What can you tell us about the third book?

ELM: Electric Vibrato is about problems created by family and friends. The third book, Electric Vamp, deals with Jerry’s and Sophie’s basic beliefs and characters. When the world creates complications in their lives, how will they address them and do they as individuals have what is necessary to take their love to a deeper and more permanent level?

HH: What are you working on now?

ELM: I am finishing the outline for the first book in another trilogy – this one focusing on Jerry’s aunt Kathryn who has made a living as a voluptuous B-movie heroine, bedding men at will on camera and off. Loves 'em and leaves 'em. Until she meets a studly Spanish cowboy and falls head over heels in love.

HH: Tell us about your writing space?

ELM: I have an office but I am just as likely to work in the kitchen which is bright and sunny or on the living room sofa which is really comfortable.

HH: When do you feel you do your best work?

ELM: Late afternoon and early evening when I am still alert but my physical energy has dissipated enough for me to focus on lust, lust and more lust.

HH: Are you plotter or do you just wing it?

ELM: I plot the story but then the characters take over. Sometimes they do what I plan, other times they take me in a totally unexpected direction. And I’ve learned to trust their choices. OK, maybe it’s my subconscious but it is Jerry and Sophie who speak for it.

HH: What inspires you when you need it in your writing?

ELM: Fantasizing. Just thinking of a man running his tongue up and down my body, teasing my nipples, tantalizing my...

HH: What do you think readers and fans would be shocked to know about you?

ELM: How conservative I appear. Notice that I said appear.

HH: I did get that! <laughs> Thank you!
