Reviews for The Greater Good
"The Greater Good was story had me going from the beginning. There was an incredible sense of mystery and love throughout the book. Both from the Realm and Solonia, there were traitors who tried to have Just killed. There were twists in the plot having to do with the lack of men in Solonia. Katerina and Just began to fall in love and their sexual encounters were beautiful. I would love to have been their during some of their encounters. Katerina was the heiress in her colony and she was very determined to care for his people. Just had an equal sense of responsibility. They were wonderful main characters. Ms. Kelley's book was surprisingly imaginative. It had everything you could ask for in a book; love, danger, suspense, and understanding. This is a story that showed you it is possible to bridge cultures, genders, and prejudice. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves futuristic romance." - 4 hearts, Marcy Arbitman, The Romance Studio

About Susan Kelley
Susan Kelley works a full time job as a high school teacher, but her true love is writing. Though The Greater Good is her first published novel, she has many more in the works. Her dream is to retire from teaching, move to a sunny state and write full time.
Four children keep her busy in their country home. Like her, they all love to read and support her career as does her husband of many years. Besides reading, Susan loves jigsaw puzzles, running and cross-stitch. The summer months find her ankle deep in planting and other landscaping escapades with a little pool time on the side.
Watch for her second book in The Solonian Chronicles, The Lesser Evil, to be released in print format in May of 2008 after its successful ebook premier in 2007. Her first fantasy novel will be available in 2010 from Medallion Press.

An Interview with Susan Kelley
By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance StudioHH: Susan, welcome to The Romance Studio! Please tell us about your featured work, The Greater Good. SK: The Greater Good is a futuristic romance published in print and ebook from New Concepts Publishing. In this distance future an asteriod strike has scoured the world of technology and most of the advancements we take for granted today. A few struggling colonies are all that remains of mankind. Such settings makes for heroes, heroines and of course, some nasty villians.
HH: So your hero is being forced into marriage and your heroine knows she needs to seduce him for the greater good. Maybe her own good too. <g> Where did you get the idea for this amazing story? SK: I don't know where the idea came from, but this is the first story I ever sat down and wrote. I revised it many times before it became the book you can read today.
HH: What did you like best about Juston? SK: Juston will do anything to protect those he loves. No mountain is too tall, no pain too great, no foe to powerful for him to defeat in the pursuit of safety for his family.
HH: So how did you get your start as a writer? SK: I wrote the first very rough draft of THE GREATER GOOD without any advice, knowledge or guidelines. Then I joined my local chapter of RWA, Central Pennsylvania Romance Writers, and met some super people who set me on the right tract. I had so much to learn. I thought all I had to do was tell a good story. LOL
HH: How are things different now? SK: Now I'm busy with multiple manuscripts and series at the same time. I've had to learn to spend part of my precious writing time on promotion. But this book is still my first and favorite.
HH: What can you tell us about The Lesser Evil?
SK: The second book in this series tells the story of two favorite secondary characters from THE GREATER GOOD. Vilicia and Sky get their own story. It's funny, sad and satisfying. Of course, look for Juston and Katerina to make an appearance or two.
HH: What can you tell us about your forthcoming release from Medallion Press? SK: THE KEEPERS OF SULBRETH is a fantasy romance. It's the first book in a multi book series. It has elves, kings, demons and sorceresses. It's an epic book that will debut in trade paperback in early 2010 or late 2009.
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career? SK: I hope to keep writing for the romance market. I just finished the third book to follow THE LESSER EVIL and started work on the fourth. I also have the second book to follow THE KEEPERS OF SULBRETH completed and receiving a final polish. I want to continue to write for the fantasy market also.
HH: What's your favorite guilty pleasure? SK: I love nothing more than to nothing all day except read. A glass of white wine and a fire in the winter, a raft, the pool and a glass of ice tea in the summer. No house work, no editing, only reading and sipping the favored brew.
HH: Will you be attending any conventions or conferences this year? SK: I hope to attend New Jersey Romance Writers conference in October. One of these days I want to go to one of the sci fi conferences and meet all my favorite writers and actors and authors.
HH: Thank you!
