Saya belongs to a race called Watchers, subtle energy beings that can become physical by metabolizing the rarified energies women release during orgasm. Aileen possesses an inherent sexual capability that will allow him to test his theory about the true purpose of the Neolithic chambers scattered throughout the Celtic world.
But Saya’s about to learn the dangerous truth about playing with sexual fires.
Reviews for the Subtle Lovers series
SUBTLE MAGIC
5 Hearts from the Romance Studio
"I thought it was great that women did not get interesting to the watchers until their “second change” or when they were in their thirties, which was an interesting twist. They thought women that were younger were “children”. Skylar is a strong woman who doesn’t like the fact that she’s being pushed around a bit in order to stay safe. The added twist that Duse’s brother Jax is in love with her too makes the story hard to put down. I thought the interactions between Skylar, Duse and Jax made the story come together into something that should not be missed."
SUBTLE TOUCH
5 Hearts from the Romance Studio
"The heat between the two in this story sizzles; Subtle Touch is a wonderful addition to a great series, don’t miss it!"
SUBTLE DESTINY
5 Hearts and a Reviewer’s Top Pick from Night Owl Romance
"Jax Ammadon is a wet-dream come true, and his chemistry with Skylar is both excruciatingly heartbreaking and explosively dynamic."

About Beth Kery Beth Kery grew up in a huge house built in the nineteenth century, where she cultivated her love of mystery, romance and the paranormal. When she wasn't hunting for secret passageways and ghosts with her friends, she was gobbling up fantasy novels and any other books she could get her hands on. Today she lives and works downtown in a bustling city, making her equally as likely to pen a story about energetic urban living as she might a haunted house or a paranormal race. She enjoys writing contemporary, paranormal, historical and erotic romance. Beth writes for Ellora's Cave, Samhain, Berkley Sensation, Berkley Heat, Changeling Press, and Whiskey Creek Press.

An Interview with Beth Kery
By Katie Raines, Assistant for The Romance Studio
KR: Beth, thank you for talking with us at TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured book, Subtle Voyage.BK: Thanks for having me, Katie.
SUBTLE VOYAGE is the fifth installment in this series. Even though it's a short, it represents a pivotal changing point in the series. At first look, it might seem just like a really sexy tale of a woman getting the opportunity to indulge for one magical night with five beautiful males. But SUBTLE VOYAGE actually contains some crucial new information in regard to the origins of the Watchers and future threats of danger.
KR: This is the latest in your /Subtle Lovers/ series. First, can you tell us how the series came about? BK: This series came out of a diverse mixture of paranormal literature: everything from myths about incubi and demons and angels, to speculation in regard to UFO's in creation stories. The Watchers, the race of my male heroes, are a little bit of all of these things and more, and their mates are exceptional human women who possess various types of special paranormal powers.
KR: What can you tell us about the first four stories? BK: The first four books tell the story of the four Ammadon Watchers (three brothers and one cousin) and their life mates. Watchers have to endure quite a trial when their mate dies in one lifetime and is reincarnated again. Since she doesn't immediately recognize him, let alone the intricacies of the Watcher world, things can get sticky at times. Even worse is when she's first introduced to the Watcher world. They're intensely romantic stories, because the Watchers love and lust with inhuman intensity.
KR: How does Subtle Voyage continue this great series? BK: As I said, it takes it in a whole new direction. Even though it seems on the surface just to be a sexy adventure (it's in the Exotica line at Ellora's Cave, for example) it hints at a dangerous new threat to the Watchers and their cherished mates. Readers who aren't familiar with the series will enjoy the intense eroticism, but regular readers will get a bit of a surprise, as well.
KR: What do you like best about Aileen and how do you relate to her? BK: Aileen is an archeologist, and I'm in awe of that profession. I think I can relate to her mixed feelings--uncertainty, fear and desire--in regard to entering an ancient chamber to spend the night with five men who she increasingly suspects aren't human. Who wouldn't envy a woman going on such an adventure? I like Aileen because she takes the plunge...despite her anxieties.
KR: So you have a big release coming up in December. What can you tell us about it? BK: WICKED BURN is my first New York published book. (Berkley Sensation, December 2) It's a hot contemporary with an intense love story behind it. My editor described it as 'heat with an emotional core' and I think that's a pretty good description.
KR: How has this year advanced your writing career?
BK: Well, it's certainly increased my understanding both of the e-book world and the New York market. It's a year where I've been learning my pace. I was contracted to write three more novels after WICKED BURN (Berkley Sensation and Berkley Heat) so I've been discovering things like: How many novels can I write in a year and still get submissions to places like Ellora's Cave? What is my comfort level in regard to output and maintaining solid, creative stories? Things like that. It's been a big learning year.
KR: What goals do you have at this point?
BK: I'd love to be able to consistently put out books both for the New York market and e-pub market. I'd like to expand my readership, first and foremost. I think that takes some experimentation, though, and allowing myself to make some mistakes. I want to keep refining my craft. I think that'll be a goal I have as long as I'm lucky enough to be writing.
KR: What do you most want readers to know about you? BK: Um...good question, I'm not sure. I'm a pretty private person, but at the same time, I like hearing from readers, especially ones who feel like a book has struck an emotional chord with them, for whatever reason.
KR: What do you think readers would be surprised to know about you? BK: Boy, Katie, another good question. I'm not so sure people think enough about me one way or another to be surprised about anything. Well, they might be surprised to learn that while much of my content for my books comes from my imagination, I've actually gotten many story elements from real life--and no, I'm not commenting on sex stuff here. lol. I just mean I've worked in several fascinating jobs, known many smart, interesting people and have been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit. They also might be surprised to learn that as much as I love romance and erotic romance, probably my favorite thing to read is young adult fantasy. Go figure.
Thanks for the thought-provoking interview, Katie.
KR: Thank you!
