However, he soon discovers that his noble bride is anything but the meek and mild woman he envisioned for his wife. One minute she’s kissing him back, the next she’s swearing to do whatever it takes to dissuaded him from their marriage. Can his lust for life and his new bride melt the ice that surrounds her heart? Or will Lady Della the Cold be this warrior’s undoing?

An Interview with Michelle Pillow
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Michelle, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice. Where did you get the initial idea for this unforgettable romance?
MP: This was actually one of the first books I'd written that sat around in the cyber locker for many years just waiting for me to dust it off. Since I love studying history, a lot of my first novels were historical romances. I also like the idea of overcoming prejudices and past trauma to live a happier life.
HH: What will readers like about Della?
MP: At first Della comes off as a little cold, especially towards her arranged marriage. However, there are reasons for her insecurities and her emotionless front and I think readers will really sympathize with those reasons.
HH: Why will readers love Brant?
MP: He's a fiery, passionate, alpha Viking. What's not to love?
HH: What sort of research went into this book?
MP: I love history, so I research everything down to the smallest details--rooms in the castle, what horses slept on, even what cuts of meat were the most popular during the time period. Every aspect of daily life, as well as the political climate was researched.
HH: What do you like about the medieval setting?
MP: In reality, it was a very hard and brutal time. I don't think many modern day people would survive very long. However, there's also something very alluring about the time--before modern science and weaponry, before every corner of the world became discoverable. For the romance novel, the idea that a man could be alpha and it was socially acceptable has some appeal, or at least is a fun device to play with in creating a woman strong enough to deal with him within the constraints of historical society's rules.
HH: What else can readers look forward to from you?
MP: I'm always working on new projects. Right now I'm working on the next book in my bestselling futuristic series: Dragon Lords: The Reluctant Prince.
HH: Will you be attending any special events this year live or online?
MP: I will be at Romantic Times Convention the first part of May in Kansas City.
HH: What hobbies or interests do you have outside of your writing?
MP: I'm an avid photographer. I love to travel, spend time with my wonderful kid, and try new things.
HH: What's your favorite quote ever?
MP: "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good." - Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)
HH: What's your favorite social media and how to use it to let readers know about your books?
MP: Facebook and Twitter seem to be a close tie with my readers. It's a way for them to stay up to date on my books, works in progress, and get fast answers to questions.
HH: Thank you!
