Shirley Martin

When Prince Keir attends the fair in a faraway city, he never expected to meet his future bride there. But seeing a beautiful woman with blue eyes and blonde hair, he knows this lady was meant for him. Clad in satin and fur and riding a sleek white horse, she surely must be a princess. Prince Keir will accept nothing less than a princess as his bride. But he is in for a surprise, for Morgana is not what she appears to be.

Tired of drudgery and housework, Morgana wishes she could attend the fair and meet other young people. When a good witch grants her these wishes, she gets more than she bargained for. But when Prince Keir comes to her house, he is the last person she wants to see.

Reviews for Midnight For Morgana

"Ms. Martin weaves a tale of a new take on Cinderella. Instead of living happily ever with her prince, the two evil sisters have something different in mind for Morgana. Something not nearly as pleasant. The beginning is much like the Cinderella story where the wicked sisters go off to the Fair and leave poor Morgana at home to do their bidding. An interesting take on this once popular fairy tale. " - Reader reviews, Amazon

An Interview with Shirley Martin
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Shirley, thank you for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Midnight For Morgana. What can you tell us about this amazing story?

SM: I have a book of Celtic myths and legends, from which I've gotten much inspiration. Midnight for Morgana is an appealing story, with traces of the Cinderella fairy tale.

HH: What do you like best about Morgana and why will readers identify with her?

SM: Morgana has two older sisters, and even though they try to dominate her, she defies them in protecting her father from their selfish domination. She finds enjoyment in little things and never loses hope.

HH: What do you like best about Prince Keir and why will readers love him?

SM: At first, Prince Keir appears arrogant and sure of himself, but he is always a gentleman and is protective of Morgana. He can take command of a situation.

HH: There is a magical element to this story as well. How did you go about creating the world for this story?

SM: I love reading about magic, and perhaps there is a little bit of magic in all of us. I've read many books about the ancient Celts, who believed in magic and had many gods and goddesses. Theirs was a fascinating world.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

SM: I have other books that are released and will be released in the coming months. Readers can check out my works at my website. Also, the Books We Love site features the books to be released in the coming months.  I write historical, paranormal, and fantasy, so there are books sure to please many readers.

HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career?

SM: I'm always open to many ideas, especially for paranormal and fantasy. I love those genres.

HH: How have things changed within the romance genre since you started out?

SM: I think it has greatly broadened, with so many selections in paranormal and fantasy. There are many selections in urban fantasy and steampunk.

HH: What's the best book you read in 2011?

SM: I've read so many good books that it's difficult to pinpoint any single one. Terry Brooks and Dean Koontz are my two favorite authors. Anything by them suits me fine.

HH: Thank you!
