“This is the first installment of Ms. Chase's new Flirting series. This was a wonderful start to a very lighthearted series. I can't wait for the next installment in this series to come out! I know other readers will enjoy getting swept away as much as I did.” 4.5 stars and a top pick from Robin at Night Owl Romance

About Ashlyn Chase

Ashlyn Chase has been a registered nurse for 20 years. During those years, she wrote articles for professional journals and a thesis, but eventually, thank goodness, discovered the joy and freedom of writing fiction.

Ashlyn considers herself lucky. Her degree in behavioral sciences is a combination of psychology and sociology, so she has worked with and studied people most of her life. She never has to write out exhaustive character sketches to understand her characters or predict how they will behave. That doesn't mean they don't surprise her. Sometimes they take her on grand unexpected journeys. For her, it gives "character driven novels" a whole new meaning.

Ashlyn has learned to go with the flow. To enjoy the journey is not only one of her writing goals, but also a challenge in life so she tries to follow where the story takes her. As such, she has lived in 17 different places over the years. At last, she's all settled down and comfy in New England.

Is there a grand design or do we decide our own fates? Perhaps if the powers-that-be have a plot, then they also give us the right to revise it. Ashlyn has certainly made detours on her path, but she thinks she's better for it. She's having fun at any rate and hopes that if she enjoys the journey, so will those around her -- including her readers.

An Interview with Ashlyn Chase
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Ashlyn, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS! Your featured book is Flirting Under a Full Moon and is the first book in your new Flirting with Fangs series. First, what can you tell us about this fascinating new series?

AC: Thank you so much for asking, Holly. Tomorrow, 4/2 is the big day! Release of Book 1 in the Flirting with Fangs series. It’s a spin-off of the previous series Strange Neighbors, but can be thoroughly enjoyed without having read the previous books. Okay, here’s the new series overview. Anthony Cross is a vampire who believes in the old adage, “To know me is to love me.” He thinks all the paranormal factions could get along if they simply took the time to get to know each other. He opens a bar that caters to paranormals of every ilk. As long as the human staff don’t catch on, all should be well... or not... find out by reading the series!

HH: How does Flirting Under a Full Moon kick it off?

AC: Brandee Hanson, one of the cocktail waitresses has loftier ambitions. She wants to be a photographer. But competition is so stiff, she knows she has to come up with some truly amazing photos to stand out. Paranormal PI and werewolf Nick Wolfensen is uniquely qualified to investigate a case where a little girl has been kidnapped for her paranormal abilities. Brandee follows him and catches him mid transformation! Then all hell breaks loose.

HH: What do you like best about Brandee and why will readers by cheering for her?

AC: She’s a spit-fire. This redhead won’t take anybody’s nonsense. She also makes up her own crazy expressions to avoid swearing. A former potty-mouth, she realizes she was attracting the wrong kind of men, and she’s sick of being dumped.

HH: What do you like best about Nick and why will readers love him?

AC: He’s gorgeous, honorable, brave, and misunderstood. Known as One Night Nick, he refuses to get involved in a committed relationship. What readers know that Brandee doesn’t is that he’s not a player. Because wolves mate for life, he wants to be free when he finds “the one.” He’s up front about his ‘one-night’ rule, so women know what to expect and won’t get hurt. Brandee thinks he’s reprehensible but flirts with him anyway since he’s a big tipper.

HH: What can you tell us about the books to come in the series?

AC: How to Date a Dragon is my editor’s favorite. Drake is a hottie firefighter and a fireproof dragon. Bliss is a greeting card designer of snarky cards, and she’s a finalist in a reality show for America’s next big greeting card designer... but all her designs go up in smoke when her apartment building burns down. At least a genuine hero saves her life--then loses her in the chaos.

HH: What do you think readers will love about this series?

AC: It’s full of unique paranormal characters, humor, and escapades. I even invented a brand new paranormal being. A whirling dervish. She hints at the fact that every paranormal’s biggest fear is coming true. In book three they all have to work together to defeat the threat.

HH: What do you enjoy most about being an author?

AC: I have a creative outlet that doesn’t create too much of a mess. My husband is a neat-nick. And I can work in my bathrobe.

HH: How has your writing career changed since you started out?

AC: Really excellent question. Just about everything has changed. I used to write romantic comedy screenplays. Then I switched to novels and wrote romantic suspense with touches of humor. Eventually, reviews and fan feedback made it clear that my sense of humor was what they liked best. I warned eneryone that they were creating a monster, but did they listen? Nooo. I went full-on comedy and changed my pen name. The only thing that hasn’t changed is my bathrobe. It’s getting really ratty. I need a new one.

HH: What do you think has been the most positive change?

AC: I found my voice! Yippeeee! I have loads of fun writing my characters who say everything I wish I could say, but I’m too polite. I always have one snarky character that doesn’t care what anyone thinks and says whatever they damn please. I can’t help encouraging them.

HH: Where can readers find you online?
