By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Susan, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is Snowbound with Dr. Delectable. What can you tell us about this heart-warming romance?
SC: It’s a Christmas story that takes place on the ski slopes of West Virginia.
Here is a little blurb about it.
Magic in Snow Mountain Resort
Dr. Baylie Walker loves her job as an emergency medical technician she gets to spend her days skiing thought the mountains and saving lives. A secluded and quiet life is just what she needs...
Until delectable Kyle Campbell makes a dramatic entrance! He may be gorgeous, with a tortured edge, but he’s exactly the kind of distraction she hoped to avoid this Christmas! Sparks fly when they are forced to work together. And as the first snow of the season begins to fall, they have no where to run...
HH: What do you like best about Baylie and why will readers identify with her?
SC: Baylie is tough. She is a survivor and she knows what she wants out of life. She cares deeply for the people on her slopes and takes her job as the head of the ski patrol seriously, wanting nothing more than for families to enjoy their time together safely. She is the sister I never had.
HH: What do you like best about Kyle and why will readers love him?
SC: Kyle has a big heart for people and is an excellent doctor. He is also has a good sense of humor and doesn’t take everything in life super serious. He does have his own issues but even those he learns to handle. Kyle is like the best friend of your big brother that is always around.
HH: How is this romance different from your previous works?
SC: This one differs because it takes place at a ski resort. I don’t know if I’ve ever read a book set at a ski resort. There is something super romantic about a winter resort.
HH: What do you think will most appeal to readers about this story this holiday season?
SC: Snow, warm fires, hot man, sexy woman and love. What’s not to like? And the fact everyone on the ski patrol is required to wear a Santa hat on Christmas Day just makes it plain fun.
HH: How do you feel your own personal experiences influence your writing?
SC: Snowbound with Dr. Delectable was greatly influenced by my personal experience. Each year my family spends time in Snowshoe, W. VA, skiing. Some of what I write about I’ve seen firsthand and other ideas I gained from interviewing the head of the ski patrol at Snowshoe.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?
SC: In January, The Rebel Who Stole Her Heart will be out. Here is a little teaser about that one.
Unbuttoned by the maverick!
He is her complete opposite, but even Michelle isn't immune to his charms -- especially when she starts to see the real Ty. She knows that he'll soon be back on his sleek black motorcycle, out on the road again, but can she stop her heart from leaving with him...?
Protected by her ice queen facade and wearing her designer suits as armor, heart surgeon Michelle Ross is always in control. Then maverick anesthesiologist Ty Smith sweeps into her operating theater and ruffles her well-groomed feathers!
HH: What are you reading at the moment?
SC: Debbie Kaufman’s newest book Journey of Hope. If you haven’t read Debbie you should. She is a great writer and tells interesting stories..
HH: What do you like best about this time of year?
SC: Sitting by the fire with all the lights off except the Christmas tree twinkling. It is too beautiful for words.
HH: Where can readers find you online?
SC: www.SusanCarlisle.com On Facebook at Susan Carlisle and on Twitter SusanCarlisle1
HH: Thank you!
