Natalie-Nicole Bates

On the surface, Lynsey Reznor seems to have it all. She is beautiful, brilliant, and a successful true-crime writer who has been living the past decade in Miami. But what Lynsey lacks is what she needs the most -- a family.

After the death of her mother, and yet another failed relationship, Lynsey makes an impulsive decision to return to her hometown of Unity. But Unity will present its own bittersweet memories, most notably, her first love, Nick Lincoln.

Twenty years ago, Nick broke teenager Lynsey’s heart when he decided to marry another. He had his own private reasons -- reasons he never explained to Lynsey. Now she is back, along with a chance to reclaim her love. But Lynsey wants answers from him that he may never be able to give out of duty and guilt.

An Interview with Natalie-Nicole Bates
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Natalie-Nicole, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is back to you is an emotionally-charged tale of coming home. Where did you get the idea for this amazing tale?

NNB: I knew I wanted to do a story on second chance love. I decided to write the story of a character coming out of a long term relationship and embarking on the dating scene. It also explores the idea of a woman dating a man whose wife has passed away and her thoughts and feelings on this.

HH: What do you like best about Lynsey and why will readers relate to her?

NNB: Lynsey is a very down to earth girl. She’s smart, sexy, and very successful. She earned every success through her own hard work.

HH: What do you like best about Nick and why will readers love him?

NNB: Nick is devoted, hardworking, and fair. He will do whatever he needs to do for his family and friends. To me, he is a perfect hero.

HH: What makes the story different from your other works?

NNB: This story is actually meant to be the first in my Unity set books. It was written to introduce the reader to a variety of different characters who live in a unique little town called Unity. Change of Address, though released first, is actually the second in the series. Amii’s Angel, will be third.

HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story?

NNB: I got to introduce the readers to a diverse set of characters, each with their own strengths and foibles. Lynsey Reznor was the first character conceived, and she is a blast.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

NNB: I have three upcoming releases before the end of the year. Come Full Circle, is my next, a contemporary romance, followed by a romantic suspense, The Heart of the Hunter, and finally a paranormal, Sara-Kate’s Spirit.

HH: Where do you draw inspiration from?

NNB: I draw inspiration from everywhere. From things people tell me, to Victorian-era photos, and mostly, just from my own mind. It’s kind of hard to explain.

HH: What's your writing schedule like?

NNB: Unlike a lot of other writers, I do not write full time. I generally set out a few hours, a few afternoons each week.

HH: Where can readers find you online?
