Since becoming an agent for the Shadow Destroyers, Braxton has excelled at playing by the rules. Until, in a moment of weakness, he let his common sense desert him for one night in Quinn's arms. A night she doesn't remember. For weeks he's kept their relationship strictly professional, but seeing Quinn so edgy and lost puts his telepathic abilities—and his restraint—to the test.
As the search for her sister intensifies and everything Quinn thought she knew comes into question, Braxton seems to be the one true thing she can hold onto. Until she discovers he's been keeping a very big secret of his own.
One that may destroy her trust just when she needs him the most.

An Interview with Sydney Somers
By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance Studio
HH: Sydney, welcome back to TRS BLUE! Please tell us about your sensational new release, Stripped Away.SS: Stripped Away is the second book in my Shadow Destroyer series, but can be read on its own. It's a dark and sexy, action-filled paranormal romance where a few protect the many. Quinn is a strong, confident demon-slayer shaken by nightmares she can't make sense of, and Braxton is the by-the-book agent shaken by….well, Quinn.
HH: This is a steamy tale filled with danger and intrigue. Where did you get the idea for this amazing story? SS: Some story ideas seem to hit me out of nowhere and some slowly unfurl inside my imagination like they've always been there, just waiting to be discovered. Stripped Away was one of those books. Quinn and Braxton came to life during the first book in the series, Unbreakable, and just hit the ground running in this one.
HH: What do you like best about Quinn? SS: Her passion. Whether she's slaying demons, sparring with her fellow agents or kickin' back in front of a television with cold pizza and a beer, she does it with an energy that pulls everyone around her along for the ride.
HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story? What challenges did you face? SS: The best part was having two characters, who have been alive in my mind for a long time, finally getting their story. Braxton plays by the rules. Quinn doesn't. Writing a story about two very different characters, who have such an explosive chemistry when they get within ten feet of each other, was an absolute blast.
Challenges... how much time do we have? LOL
HH: What else do you have in store for readers this year? SS: In the spring I have a paranormal novella, Waitin' on a Hero, releasing from Samhain Publishing about a woman attracted to two men—or so she believes; her sexy next-door neighbor and the mysterious vigilante who comes to her rescue. I also hope to have the third book in my Shadow Destroyer series release later this year.
HH: What goals have you set for yourself in your career for 2008? SS: To write, write, write. I'm all about keeping things simple. =)
HH: If you had a day to spend any way you like, what would you do?
SS: Read. Read. Read. =) With my family and writing obligations, reading is the one thing I wish I could do more of. I miss the days when I had time to read a few books a week instead of just one. There are so many wonderfully talented authors out there and not enough hours in the day.
HH: How do you balance family with your writing career? SS: When I figure it out I'll get back to you. LOL. I'm a huge fan of jotting down a to-do list every morning to make sure everything I need to get done is accomplished. One list of things I have to take care of with the house and family, and one for writing. It also helps to have a wonderfully supportive husband who only complains when he's out of clean socks and/or can't find the remote.
HH: What's your favorite guilty pleasure? SS: Television. Heroes, Lost and Grey's Anatomy to be more precise. Most of my evenings are spent writing when the kids are tucked in for the night, but sometimes I can't resist taking a night off and watching my favorite shows instead of just recording them for later. Thank heavens the writers' strike is over. =)
HH: Will you be attending any conferences or conventions this year? SS: Not this year unfortunately, but hopefully some down the road.
Thanks for having me.
HH: Thank you!
