Reviews for Helle in Heels
"Author Shawna Moore writes an exceptionally told story of the Devil’s daughter, Helle who is forced to addict from Hell and leave all her loves behind. With the determination of giving pleasure to the men of Sin City, Helle is about to storm earth and captivates the male species with her minions. A delightfully carnal story of a woman from hell who is forced to stay on Earth or all is lost. Helle is a delightful character who is strong willed, passionate and smart. With a quick stroke of her pen, Ms. Moore weaves her spell around the reader as Helle and her minions set out to enchant the men of Sin City and deliver some wildly sensual exploits. With each breath this reviewer was hoping the fan stayed on high and the AC cooled things off. This is one author who can definitely heat things up a notch and keep the flame burning hotter than ever. With each page this reviewer was amazed at the sensual passion that was always one step from an inferno. If you enjoy a hot story to heat things up, grab HELLE IN HEELS and be carried away on this highly erotic story that will have you looking at the dynamics of Hell differently." - Dawn, Love Romances and More
"Shawna Moore tells a funny and very erotic story that will make you laugh at Hellé’s antics and squirm at the brazen hussy and her female posse. Hellé in Heels is a wonderful spoof of what Satan's daughter could have been like had he fathered one as she shows her wit and knowledge of designer fashions that must rival any fashionista. This book was a true joy to read." - Alisha, TwoLips Reviews
"Hellé in Heels lives up to its title. It is a well-written, fun story with an erotic twist. The eroticism is daring and wild, but you will also definitely be left with a strong desire to go shopping. Hmmmm...I can feel that Rolex watch on my wrist or a beautiful Kate Spade purse on my shoulder." - Cherie Fisher, Reader Views
"I really loved this story. Hope Helle has more stories out soon." - Stone Pony, Reader
"From the beginning, I was right there with Helle. You did a wonderful job on her character. Sure would have hated leaving Menlikus behind but I'm glad you brought them back together. Have you planned more books featuring Helle and Menlikus? If not, please do. This story had a great balance with the steamy sex and Helle's journey." - Barbara, Reader
"Recently I read Helle in Heels. Even my husband enjoyed the honest way you portrayed the sex scenes. We read some of the story together in bed. Definitely got us in the mood to have our own fun between the sheets. Thanks for such an excellent book. Can't wait to read more of your work." - J.E., Reader
"Demons, sex toys, devil and the immortal all come in one in this decadent book by Shawna Moore making you wonder what goes on in this author's head when she creates books. Hellé is not your usual daughter, and I liked that even though others saw her as a sexual, desirable and wild person this woman had some issues. She knows that people think that she can go from one guy to another without feelings yet she is feeling something she never thought of before. Love. Shawna Moore did a great job in such a short story to make you see that even though she's the devil's daughter, Hellé has a somewhat caring side in her that she keeps secret at all times from others around her. I loved the whole story of sex at your beck and call; it will make you wonder why Hellé would want to be with just one guy when there are guys willing to have sex with her without any questions. Great job to Shawna Moore." - Lena C, FAR

About Shawna Moore As an only child, daydreaming about enchanting places was one of my favorite pastimes. From the first skit I wrote and performed in front of an audience of stuffed animals and Barbie dolls, I’ve loved being a storyteller. Creating fantasy worlds and filling them with characters provided more fun than any board games or other avenues of amusement. My beloved late mother always encouraged my love of reading and writing, and from well before the time I started kindergarten, she gifted me with books and took me to our local library. She passed away before my first book was published, but her spirit is with me every day, lovingly and creatively spurring me on.
During my high school and college years, I concentrated on a mixed curriculum of business and academic classes and earned a 4.0 GPA. Never have I been more grateful for my typing skills (over 140 wpm) than when I started writing toward the goal of publication. After fifteen years of working in the medical profession in a variety of capacities, the call of a career writing romance and women’s fiction came stronger than ever. My mother had just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, and it was also my desire to spend as much time with her as possible. With the blessing of my real-life hero, my dream came true and I embarked on a full-time fiction-writing journey and haven’t looked back. Sharing my stories with readers has proven rejuvenating and rewarding.
Since then I’ve had multiple novels, novellas and short stories published. Currently I’m writing for Ellora’s Cave. In addition I’ve completed over forty other manuscripts including historical and contemporary erotic romances, single-title erotic women’s fiction, erotica, novellas and short stories. Writing is my second greatest passion. My greatest passion? Of course, it is my husband without whose love and strong support my career wouldn’t be possible. When it comes to my fiction work, my promise to readers is erotic content presented in the purest way I know possible. My own fulfilling romantic relationship provides me daily inspiration. My wish for every man and woman is that they derive as much romance and pleasure from life and their reading material as possible. Feel the heat, forget the ice when reading one of my stories.

An Interview with Shawna Moore
By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance Studio
HH: Shawna, welcome back to TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured work, Helle in Heels. SM: Helle Hawthorn is the daughter of the Devil and a mortal woman. Though she was gifted with her father's good looks and charm, Helle has her mother's kind nature and conscience. Women will relate to HELLE IN HEELS because this tale explores the feminine tendencies of self-sacrifice and nurturing. Helle shows us how women can dare slaying their sexual demons and finding fulfillment in more ways than one. Though she is one of the most supreme beings in Hades, Helle is dealt the ultimate blow. She's banished from Hell and forced to leave behind her otherworldly powers and true love in order to save Earth from Satan's wrath. She uses her intelligence and demonstrates unflagging determination when escaping a hellish situation that's getting hotter with each passing moment. Helle is quite adventurous and a sexual being, but she doesn't hesitate putting another's needs before her own when a situation warrants. Quite a candid woman, she tells one lover she's, "Your mother's worst nightmare and your daddy's wettest dream." Despite her sassiness and sex appeal, she never forgets the handsome Greek who brought her love and orgasms below ground. Menlikus, the story's hero, shows how far he will go and how much he will risk for the woman of his wildest and most romantic dreams. HELLE IN HEELS is a tale of personal loss for the gain of the masses. Taking chances to bring peace and betterment to your own life and the lives of others. HELLE IN HEELS keeps the hellfires burning with explicit sexual content. The paranormal is blended with an edgy, sassy tone in this Ellora's Cave Exotika tale. If you think you really know what happens in Hell, Helle Hawthorn might change your mind. The Devil isn't above defeat.
HH: You're taking on some diabolic - and very sexy - subject matter here. Where did you get such a sinful idea? <g> SM: Oh, the things that happen when a woman's home alone. Seriously, I was in the kitchen making coffee when the coffeemaker emitted a bizarre groan. Almost guttural and sounding as though it had come from the depths of Hell. The fact I'm not usually in the kitchen at this point in the brewing process might account for the fact this sound was new to my ears. But when it happened again, I truly wished the filter-dripping demon back to where he belonged. Somehow this vocalized wish sparked the idea of a spitfire heroine being banished from Hell by her father, Sir Satan. I filled a travel mug with coffee, grabbed my laptop and headed back to the master bedroom where silence reigned supreme. My Muse couldn't have been more content. I worked for over five hours straight without taking a break and finished the story's first draft that weekend. Now you know one of my secrets - Shawna's creativity was once sparked by her coffeemaker's satanic rumblings =)
HH: What do you like best about your leading characters? SM: I admire the way they don't surrender their goals despite the fact they're faced with a dismal situation. Helle and Menlikus are otherworldly beings but able to differentiate between love and lust and recognize which means more to them overall. Although they're both physically and mentally strong, they don't hesitate to display a softer, sentimental side of their character. Each has more than a bit of Beta to slightly blunt the dominant Alpha prototype. Also, although circumstances may drive them apart, one is often thinking about the other.
HH: What did you enjoy most about writing of the daughter of Satan? SM: Giving Helle the ability to escape Hades against all odds. Gifting her with a level of intelligence that enabled her to outsmart her despot daddy. Allowing her a chance to explore some sexual fantasies, search her soul and come to a conclusion about love and the role it plays in her life. Putting her in the path of the ultimate sexual obstacles and letting her learn more than one valuable lesson in the process.
HH: What challenges did you face? SM: When I characterized Helle, I made her personality multi-faceted. Strove to get past the stereotype that all who dwell in Hades are evil. Also, I sought to dispel the belief the Devil is an all-knowing, all-seeing entity. Spun a story where he has his limitations and intellectual superiors. It was a great deal of fun putting my unique spin on the fiery netherworld and her method of escape. I didn't want Helle suffering immediate defeat which is what the Devil wanted, but I had to make her escape believable. I'm hopeful readers will set aside all they think they know about Hell and vicariously visit the world and conflict I've created for Helle.
HH: What can readers look forward to from you in 2008?
SM: During Mardi Gras week this year, I contracted an erotic historical paranormal romance novel with Ellora's Cave. What made this sale even more special is the fact TORMENTED is set in New Orleans. I've several other projects, novella-length and novel-length, I'm considering for publisher submission at some point.
HH: What are your goals this year?
SM: I've various goals, but I'll list the main ones. Living even more in the moment in 2008. Slowing down and experiencing the magic and beauty around me before it's gone and something else takes its place. Spending more time with family and friends and adjusting my writing schedule accordingly. Ramping up my aerobic exercise routine for extended cardio benefits. I've plotted three erotic-romance novellas and want to complete first drafts on those. Another writing-related mission is completing edits on two single-title romances and submitting them for publication consideration. The next installment of Helle's adventures awaits another round of self-edits before submission.
HH: If you had one day to spend any way you wanted, what would you do? SM: I'd escape to a day spa and let the pampering begin. As I'm particularly fond of chocolate, I'd select a spa property where they used cocoa-based products. I'd enjoy a toning facial. Detoxifying full body massage. Soothing soak in cocoa-scented suds. Of course, while all this pampering is taking place, I'd focus on plotting some sexy scenes for the characters in my romance-novel-in-progress. Indulgent moments are the best times for plotting sinfully erotic scenes.
HH: When you need inspiration for your stories, where do you turn? SM: So many things provide inspiration for stories. News broadcasts. Weekend getaways. Moments spent with my hubby. Long walks around our neighborhood or local spots of scenic interest. Nature. Dreams. Dreams are one of my favorite inspirations. My dreams are usually quite vivid and provide lots of steamy details for future fiction-writing reference. Sleep also brings more than rejuvenation. Many times I've reached a place in my story where the characters or plot are puzzling me. I've found pondering the problem before going to sleep often delivers me a solution when I awaken the next morning. Simply living each day to the fullest and remaining alert to everything possible in my surroundings also gives me a great deal of inspiration.
HH: Can readers and fans find you at any signings, conferences, or conventions this year? SM: I've not placed any conferences or conventions on this year's calendar. I look forward to making up for lost time in 2009 and am planning on attending several conferences.
Thank you for hosting this interview with me, Holly. It's been a pleasure =)
HH: Thank you!
