Wynn's roommate Leena is beautiful, brilliant, and his twin sister's best friend. When Wynn's sister finds herself unexpectedly a single mother, it's Leena who steps in to care for the child. They were well on their way to fulfilling Wynn's fantasy of becoming a happy little family. Then the child's father, a blood drinker, showed up to reclaim what was his, leaving Wynn severely injured.

With Ellen and the child kidnapped and Wynn in the hospital, Rand Cooper offered help. Sexy Rand, may be rough around the edges, but his healing touch turned out to be just what Leena and Wynn needed. An Interview with J.J. Massa
By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance Studio

HH: JJ, welcome back to TRS BLUE! Please tell us about your featured book, Metamorphose.

JJ: Thanks, Holly! I love TRS BLUE.

Metamorphose introduces the International Worlds Museum and tells the story of Leena Keene, Rand Cooper, and Wynn Ravensdale as the three come together in a most unexpected way. They're so busy trying to find Wynn's nephew and fight off a psychotic blood drinker that they can't help falling in love. Leena's from Chicago while the two guys are both British, though from far different social classes. There's plenty of action, emotion, and steam all through this book.

HH: This is a sizzling tale of paranormal dangers and extraordinary desires. Where did you get the idea for this amazing story?

JJ: This idea has been pecking at me for some time now. I'm fascinated by the idea that there is more to our world than what we know. I love exploring that possibility every chance I get.

HH: How do you go about world building for a project like this?

JJ: Um...world building? LOL Really, the characters and events build the world. The thing is, once something is true, it's pretty much always true. That's the most important part of discovering the world here. On the other hand-this is the International Worlds Museum. That means that we'll probably find many, many worlds as this series grows.

HH: There is a lot going on in this story. What challenged did you face in writing it?

JJ: The biggest challenge was trying to determine what the readers most needed to know about. I kept putting too much into this book-too many characters. I wanted to introduce everyone.

HH: What do you have in store for readers and fans this year?

JJ: I have a few more books in the International Worlds Museum series for Linden Bay Romance that I hope can come out this year. Amazon Shorts has a few of my stories in the pipeline. I also have a few male/male books scheduled to come out that has been contracted with Torquere, a couple of werewolf books releasing with New Concepts Publishing, along with a few others that I'll tell you about as I know more.

HH: Which release is your personal favorite?

JJ: I can only say what I'm sure so many authors tell you. My personal favorite is whichever book I'm writing at the time. Each book feels better than the last one and I'm always sure that my next book will be the best…until it's finished. When that happens, I panic and think I could have written more or added an extra scene. It never feels finished.

HH: What's a typical day like for you?

JJ: I'm a night person, so my days start late. I take Cosmo out around 4a.m before I turn in. and then get up briefly to feed him at 6:30. He gets a longer walk around 11ish and then I go back to bed for another hour or two. I enjoy just sitting with a cup of coffee the first hour that I'm really up. If I'm going to write on any certain day, I seldom start before 5p.m.

HH: What do you do when you get stuck in a story?

JJ: I take the dog out or do housework. It really just depends on how stuck I am. If I'm really into the story but not sure what's next, I leave and come back. If I just can't focus, there's nothing I can really do. When that happens, I write a few words or a line or two and then do something else. Either it will take forever to write the book or I'll start all over again when the time is right.

HH: How do you celebrate good reviews or new sales?

JJ: If something good happens like that, I tell my daughter right away. (whichever daughter is available-I have 2) They're both very supportive.

HH: What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

JJ: Strong, dark coffee. I especially love it freshly ground. Dark roast and espresso, Turkish ground. Ohhhh MAN.

Maybe I'll have a cup right now…

HH: Thank you!
