Reviews for Another Night, Another Planet
“I enjoyed this story as it developed the characters nicely, set up the story and didn’t dump a whole heap of world building on the reader. Another Night, Another Planet is a great read”

An Interview with Jessica Subject
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio
HH: Jessica, thank you for talking with us at TRS. You featured story is Another Night, Another Planet. Where did you get the idea for this incredible story?
JS: Hi Holly! Thank you for having me! Before writing Another Night, Another Planet, I already had 1Night Stand stories, and an Elatia story published with Decadent Publishing. Heather, one of the co-owners of Decadent asked if I would be willing to write a story that combines both of these lines, since I was familiar with both of the worlds. I jumped at the chance, but I wanted to make this one a little different than the others. Instead of a usual cast of characters, I decided to set up Nate, who is considered by may to be a space terrorist due to his ancestry, with Ava, who is a housekeeper aboard a cruise ship in space. I know authors aren't supposed to pick favorite stories, but this one definitely ranks up there.
HH: What do you like about Ava and why will readers identify with her?
JS: I like Ava because she's so common. She doesn't come from a wealthy family, and struggles to support her parents while saving up money for herself. Because of her father's layoff, she couldn't afford to further her education and has had to work at jobs that demand more than they pay. Lucky for her, she learned about a job as a housekeeper aboard a mother traveler. The pay is better, but being away from home for six months at a time can be hard, especially when it comes to relationships.
HH: What do you like about Nate and why will readers love him?
JS: I like Nate because he's feisty, always having to get himself out of trouble. He acts very tough, but he does have a soft side that he shows to the right person. He was in love once, but that woman and any chance of a relationship with her was stolen from him. He applies to the 1Night Stand dating service, wondering if there is someone else out there for him.
HH: What can you tell us about the very special series this is part of?
JS: I call Another Night, Another Planet a hybrid story, as it is a combination of two lines at Decadent Publishing. Many readers are familiar with the 1Night Stand line where the French woman, Madame Evangeline, runs a dating service that sets people up with their "perfect" match. Unlike other dating services, she is magic and has not failed in her matches. Though, not everything runs as smoothly as she plans. The other series this story is a part of is the erotic science fiction romance line, Elatia. These stories are hot and set on the pleasure planet, Elatia, where visitors' sexual fantasies are fulfilled or brought to fruition by the highly-trained Adamos. In Another Night, Another Planet, and my other Elatia story, An Unexpected Return, my Adamos are trained in the art of erotic massage.
HH: What do you think readers will enjoy most about this romance?
JS: Another Night, Another Planet is a lot of fun with chase scenes and some hot and heavy sex with food involved, and fire. But overall, it's the story of long lost lovers being reunited. And they have some tough decisions to make.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?
JS: Besides Another Night, Another Planet, I had another release last month called Never Gonna Desert You. It is an erotic lesbian sci-fi romance that is the second book in The Underground series. The third (and final) book in the series is now out on submission.
This month, I'm participating in multiple giveaways, so I urge readers to follow my blog to find out how they can win awesome prizes. Because who doesn't like to win, right?
As for what's coming out next, I have a bunch of stories that are on the go, and I'm hoping to have a couple more releases this fall. One of them is the second book in the Alien Next Door series, and another is my first Christmas story called Hey, Santa. It will definitely make you look at Santa differently this holiday season. For updates on new releases and giveaways, readers can subscribe to my newsletter.
HH:What would most like to accomplish in your writing career this year?
JS: I want to finish all of the stories on my to-write list. There are quite a few on the list (at the bottom of my blog), including the above mentioned stories, plus the re-write of The Zurian Child, which I'm really excited about.
HH: What hobbies or interests do you have outside of your writing?
JS: I like to go for walks and go hiking. Of course, I enjoy reading. And in the fall, I'm registered for yoga classes. Wish me luck!
HH: What's your favorite quote ever?
JS: "Dance like no one is watching, love like you'll never be hurt, sing like no one is listening, and live like it's heaven on earth." ~ William Purkey
HH: What's your favorite social media and how to use it to let readers know about your books?
JS: I think that would be twitter. I'm on there the most, and I tweet about my books. I tweet about things from my fellow authors as well, because I always love to help them out. I also tweet about silly things my kids have done, like my son locking himself in the bathroom. All someone has to do is mention me (@jsubject) on twitter, and I'll respond. :) I also post longer things like excerpts from my stories and works-in-progress on my facebook page.
Thank you so much and happy reading! ~ Jessica
HH: Thank you!
